I'm doing a fundraiser for my birthday in memory of my mother and all the other brave souls that have ever faced cancer. Please consider donating, link is in my bio 🌹💐🌺 Cancer has touched my life in so many ways that I can't even count. It affected me when I didn't even know what it was or meant. It brings pain and suffering to those who it encounters, but it can also bring together strength and love as well. I remember hearing about how my cousin died from it at a young age. How my aunt got it too, but was able to pull through. I remember when my mother told my sister and I that she had cancer. How my sister cried as I stood in the kitchen, confused because the word "cancer" had a vague and unknown meaning to me at the time. I remember how I watched my strong, beautiful mother wither away before me and die shortly after her birthday. I remember when I had just officially moved in with my adopted family, and my dad gathering us for the gut-wretching news that my brother was diagnosed. I remember seeing yet another loved one march on through the pain like a soldier. And then I remember the day that my brother was officially cancer free after a grueling three years. Cancer has taught me many lessons and is a big part of my passion to heal people and help others as a nurse.
