I’ve noticed an annoying ideological contradiction/tension within a subset of people, who are likely only online, who try to simultaneously adopt “muh western” trad Cath Christian values and alt-right/ubermensch ideals. Their attempt to merge trad Cath values with alt-right ideology, especially when these posters try to justify un-Christian attitudes like hate or violence under the guise of faith, is so blatantly logically & morally inconsistent that it feels like liberal satire. This jd vance genre of “conservative intellectual” purports to be well-read, but clearly has not engaged with the works that form the basis of the ideology they claim! The gen z fascists think Nietzsche was pro New Testament! The alt right doesn’t even read Nietzsche correctly. It’s like talking to a teenager who thinks nihilism is the end point, but the teenager is a racist. The cherry-picking in order to deliberately or unintentionally misrepresent is pathetic
