Liam apparently confirms, then Stephanie makes it public that the radio sent her a press release beforehand, with a whole new wave of shadiness surrounding the interview. Louis “confirms,” and the interviewever calls Harry out on his silence. The same night, Harry and Louis are publicly together, but there’s that other guy whom I won’t name there. Then, only Harry and Louis ear the believe in magic wristband, and and Rolling Stone publish an article that is so pronouncedly pro-Larry to make a few eyebrows raise. And then, tomorrow, there’s that whole interview, and likely the new round of bullshit that will come along with it.

I know that it’s a popular thought that 1DHQ wants the larries gone, but I don’t think it’s true. Maybe in the past, but not now - especially not after Project No Control, which was a campaign created and led by larries. It’s widely believed that we are a “vocal minority,” but, albeit certainly vocal, I don’t think we are that much of a minority, and I think that 1DHQ wants our potential. They want us engaged, and they want us to stick around.

It’s February when Lairport happens, and February when the “I’m gay it’s pretty unfortunate” vine happens, but, despite our fears of a bullshit tweet 3.0, nothing happens and 1DHQ lets it pass. Then start building babygate. Elounor breaks up, the party boy narrative starts, and it all leads to the news in July. The increase social media activity, the astroturfing, the little hints here and there, it’s all crafted beautifully — except that there are enough plot holes for Larries to catch up almost immediately and say, Wait, there’s something fishy, this doesn’t add up, this baby cannot be real. 

Everyone and their mother is able to write how a real pregnancy is dealed with, so, if they wanted, 1DHQ could have made this pregnancy look 100% real. But they don’t, and as someone who believes that Harry and Louis are in a relationship, I think that they didn’t because it’s not real and they wanted us to catch up on that. They know we dig, and we dig deep, because we like to see through the bullshit, so they count on that. At every new round of babygate bullshit, the press unexpectedly turns larry. They mock the baby, they syndicate a mpreg manip of Harry, and they give us more that one wink. Even the Daily Mail turns larry as fuck on Twitter. Even if, as someone (scruff?) suggested, babygate was also meant to get a No Control-like reaction from us, failing miserably, we are still here, aren’t we?

Push and pull, the temperature of the water, whatever you want to call it, they don’t want us to go away — maybe this post is just stating the obvious over and over again, they want us to stay glued to the internet and glued to the band. This is a TV show with plot twists episode after episode to keep us engaged, and they want us to stay and bring them good money until the season finale. Not just us larries - but the antis, those who believe that the baby is real, those who believe that Harry will CO solo. All of us. Because whatever the endgame is - and, as a larrie, you know what I think the endgame is - part of the fandom is going to go. 

They know that we believe this is all single and/or album promo, a publicity stunt with no real baby, so they count on us to stay at least until November, when the album drops and we - hopefully - all buy it. After that, whatever the endgame is, either us, the antis, or another part of the fandom - they are going to lose fans and they know that they will. So they are milking it as long as they can, as long as all the fandom, including us and our potential (Project No Control), stays, and the money we bring can still all go into their pockets.
