OK SO I was gonna wait until the one year to post this but I’m v v v impatient and I j wanted to show you all this thingy thing that I made.
Brighton is the longest roleplay I’ve been in for a long while and I’m so grateful for Ava, Gorgeous, and everyone that made all of this possible. Through Brighton, I’ve gotten to know so many people and meet some of my closest friends. This roleplay has been a real trip for me and I’m just glad that I was able to have been a part of it. The time that I spent here will never be forgotten and hopefully we’ll all get to look back at Brighton positively and cherish the memories we made together. I don’t know what else to say so I just hope ya’ll like the video and… yeah. :)

First of all, I would like to give some context for this quote from the legendary ‘Golden Girls’ starring Betty White, Bea Arthur, Estelle Getty, and Rue McClanahan (may the last three rest in peace, and may the first be with us always). This was the final line of the final episode in the entire series and, honestly, I’ve been planning to use it either way around. I do feel it’s more applicable in a post like this, however.
I know that myself or Amber has contacted all of you beforehand in forewarning that this has become a very real possibility, and I believe you all know what ‘this’ is. There is so much I want to say about this, about how much this roleplay has meant to me, about how much each and every single one of you have meant to me. I can’t fill this entire post up with that, however – if you want nothing more than that, you should just click “read more”.
I do want to thank this roleplay in general in this post. This roleplay has given me so many senses that I hadn’t had enough of before. I’ve got a better sense of responsibility, a better sense of purpose, a better sense of worth. That’s not just because of myself – it’s because of every single one of you. Essentially, all I’ve done is either post long personal anecdotes, updates on Scooby-Doo, or terrible references. I may have been the face, but you guys have been the backbone.
That being said, I wish I could’ve done more as the face. You guys never failed me as the backbone, and I am so sorry that the face has failed you. I never wanted to let you guys down and I am so sorry about this. I hoped to make it to a year – just a few days more – more than anything, post in celebration, as opposed to post in an event that deserves nothing more than somber speech. I don’t think I will ever meet a group I love as much as this group, and I don’t think I will ever have paralleled experiences in any other group as I’ve had here. This has genuinely been one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever gotten the chance to encounter.
Although that’s been said, I would still like to offer a second chance, if that makes any sense. Amber and I have been talking about the possibility of creating a new roleplay so we could, if nothing else, continue roleplaying as a group. We came up with a few ideas – some old-school with great room for character development, some that’d be slightly more plot-driven. If you’d be interested in joining a new group with some (hopefully the majority [if not all]) other Brighton members, feel free to vote here (which we’ll probably cut off with the results of either on November 17th or once we get all of y’all’s votes [as judging by the count]). I believe we have each of your contact information, and, because I’d really like for this post to be the conclusion to the story that became of Brighton, we’ll contact you with the results. (That was a really nice run-on sentence.)

@wesley-ryu/alex: ok i rmr when we first started tryna plot i was like “...wesley... ivy... i... got nthn” and then u posted that text thread and suddenly they had a whole ‘misery’ subplot (bc u kno that’s what it clearly was there was clearly actual events from ‘misery’ going on in the bg). u are such a nice person and u have always made me feel so welcomed and im rly glad i got 2 kno u u are like a puzzle piece u kno like it always SEEMS like there’s smth... missing... then u realize u placed the final puzzle piece somewhere else and u put it in and it’s beautiful!!! u are that puzzle piece. to sum it up: -annie wilkes voice- im ur biggest fan!!! honestly im just rly thankful for brighton in general. i never would’ve met any of you without it.

i swore i would never shut down brighton until it was basically begging 2 be killed and i rly rly rly rly hope that i didnt let anyone down i am so sorry we had 2 end so soon. we were all so close 2 make it to that one year mark!!! in any case thank u guys so much each and every single one of u and pls kno that i love all of u. i love all of u a whole lot.
i still rmr how pumped avery and i were 2 first open brighton and tbh now avery seems like such a distant memory for brighton. with EVERY SINGLE LINEUP brighton has gone thru w mods like.... man idek if i can keep track w all of the amazing ppl who have helped me out. whether theyre still here or not it doesnt matter – each left for a reason and i loved working with them all. and i still love working w the mod lineup rn.

honestly i could go on for pages and pages in mla format double-spaced font-size 12 times new roman 1-inch margins abt how much yall meant and still mean 2 me and how much this rp meant and still means 2 me. im not kidding when i say that this is my proudest accomplishment im not over-exaggerating. legit before this whenever i was asked what my proudest accomplishment was i was like “....well.... i’m a fast typist.... i beat everyone including the teacher in elementary and middle school...... and when i took two ct electives in high-school i was always the fastest in my class..... im like sonic w a keyboard.” but now i can say this. even if it burned out a lil before i was hoping (fifteen more days man) it still means so much to me and part of why is bc u guys all chose it. u guys looked at the main back when it still had that theme it had for ten years and yall were like “....sounds solid.” and yall joined. and yall stuck around. and yall developed ur characters and i got 2 watch and yall got 2 meet each other and meet other players even if they’re no longer here or in our lives.
this rp has shown me that rps are more than just “ok so this is my character this is how they talk they say ‘legit’ a lot (subtweet) and they grew up bc that happens and etc etc etc” yall have shown me that rps can be abt so much more. ooc i’ve been closer 2 the ppl in this group than i ever have been in groups before including groups i’ve modded.
