Girl, nobody cares, not even her dad that they tried to and failed to retcon into thinking he loved her.”

“I am a philiose fan but I do understand the antis of the ship. Show Eloise gets told multiple times that she has these ambitious beliefs but does nothing with them and marrying Philip away in the countryside will just reinforce that. Well unless they go for that Eloise married Philip to get close to university.”

“This may not just apply to bridgerton but. Why are people fine when a man gets a new love interest after a failed first, but not when a woman, they always get so attached to their first love romance and act bitter when they get a second love interest.”

“I must confess...I don't get the comments I see about people being upset about Philoise because of race reasons. I've seen quite a few comments where people are really upset about potentially killing off a black actress (not even sure that is how it will go, I personally am hoping for a surprise George return tbh) to support a white character/white character ship. Like, what? Really? Equality means Marina should be treated exactly as any white actress in the role would be. Her race shouldn't even come into play.”

“Normally I don't love the idea of a public proposal but benophie really sold it for me. Sophie and Benedict both have been through the wringer regarding public image and societal expectation. After so long of being relegated to the shadows I can see how thoughtful and important it is to them both to be able to have that exchange in the middle of the Queen's Ball, and the intimacy and tenderness of their connection doesn't suffer for it at all.”

“yerin ha is so incredibly stunning. i swear araminta must have made the penwood maid uniform hideous and drab on purpose to try to dim her beauty- and it didnt work. the bridgerton uniform? gorgeous! the color suits her so well while being reasonably subtle and modest as a work uniform would be, but theres still delicate little details like the sheer pleated collar matching the apron and the cute coffee filter headpiece. cavender house uniform is unfortunately goated and i understand why they used it for so many promo shoots. never thought i would say this about a plaid but the deep, near-black purple with overlapping cool and warm tones makes the color seem to shift in the light. the slightly transparent shift gathered in a crossover neckline is romantic and a little sensual without being creepy or concerning given the employer's son, and the apron is also slightly sheer but is thick enough to offer a crisp, cleanness against the moody near-iridescence of the gown. theres so much sparkle and frill in the wardrobes of most bridgerton girls, and i can definitely pick iconic looks for other leading ladies but i think they had a balance to strike with so much of sophie's wardrobe that makes the details easier to appreciate and yerin's natural beauty to shine through 🩶🌬”

“What Kate and Anthony did to Edwina in S2 was CRUEL. She was so infatuated by Anthony and was so happy to be engaged to the man of her dream, not knowing that her prince charming and her own sister (whom she loves dearly) flirting hard behind her back and kept it from her until it was too late. It was a betrayal by her own sister, but nobody saw that.”

“After a rewatch, I must say, I miss the general tone of season one. I feel like the show has become a parody of itself at this point, and the pacing of main-plots vs. side-plots in the first two seasons has sucked. I didn't like a lot of things about season 1 (the showrunners should have removed the martial rape plotline and done something else), but the more subdued nature of certain things lent itself well to a regency romance. The costumes are getting bigger and louder as time goes on, Queen Charlotte's outfits are getting more and more ostentatious, and while I don't mind the lavish nature of things, I wish they'd stuck to it from day one.”
