The intimacy coordination in Heated Rivalry needs a bonus, and also to start imparting lessons to other coordinators; because the scenes look so realistic. Also the banter, the constant asking from Ilya to make sure Shane is okay, how much fun they are having in the moment. Everything looks perfect.
Can't wait for the scenes when they start to realize their feelings, it is gonna be so good.

I love that the interviews with Edvin and Omar about their work with their IC was like, âwe were nervousâ or âwe felt safe to say noâ and âsometimes I donât want hands on my face cuz of germsâ
And then Hudson and Connor come swinging in butts bare sending their IC and producer videos like, âwe were in the trailer and taped this, watch me pretend to deepthroat this man and stick my fingers in his mouth and slap his face, do you think we can do this or is too much?â
And theyâre like âGENIUS. air itâ
really hope hudson and connor get to speak with more journalists/press who give them the opportunity to give serious, thoughtful answers like this during the s2 press tour. seeing them do the chaotic interviews together is obviously so much fun, but I love when we get to have discussions like THIS too.

hudson williams on the importance of intentionality behind sex scenes in media. on heated rivalry they made sure they handled all the intimate scene with the same care and responsibility as the emotional talks. that they choreographed and worked out the acting behind those scenes as much as the physical movement of them. thatâs what makes them feel real. thatâs what makes them feel story driven.
i was watching this video essay about intimacy coordinators the other day which was super interesting and thereâs this part in the video where he uses a clip of noah wyle talking about using an intimacy coordinator for the first time -
âI found the intimacy coordinator to be the first time Iâve ever looked at those scenes as acting scenes, because we were suddenly breaking them down beat by beat and it was now like âwait whoâs the aggressor? and is it awkward or are they really connected? or do we find the connection or does it start sloppy?â it became an opportunity for more storytelling than just a little bit of an erotic escape.â
thatâs the point! thatâs how it should be! the reason so many people have turned against sex scenes (besides puritan culture) is because theyâve often felt gratuitous and unnecessary and exploitive. iâm really glad a show like heated rivalry is part of this change in the current industry as a whole. that itâs able to bringing sex into the story, not stuck outside of it
