                         dark grey skies gather overhead, the chill BREATHS into lungs & pains ----- briar prefers this colder weather to the summer that will be arriving soon ; when she has to ditch her beanies and thick jackets for tank tops and exposed flesh ( now, she doesn’t care about fashion or her appearance, but ----- winter’s were just BETTER, and so were beanies. ) and today? thunderstorms gathered & so did briar’s GOOD MOOD’S. the siren’s scream was spent cooped up in an abandoned starbucks, while threats gathered outside those windows & briar’s tensions rose. quite frankly, she’s OFF THE CHARTS jolly to have the wings of a hunter spread ; there’s an extra spring in her step as debris crushes under foot ----- and honestly? she doesn’t even care that she’s not doing today’s hunt independently today ( the lone wolf, she likes her independence, and especially when she doesn’t have to handle the responsibility of another’s life when it comes to the crunch. )  

       for now though, that spring in her step pauses, a tsk of her tongue as olive hues scan the scene ; rotted undead bodies, from what she can see, scattered across the ground & around tents ( good riddance!  ) although the camp is in RUINS ; abandoned by it’s owners, and briar can only suspect this is the consequential outcome of that alarm.   ❝  well ------ everybody has a date that they expire, I guess. ❞   that’s all she has to say ; behind walls & barriers there’s a frown coupled with PITY. did any of them get away? did they survive?  ❝ brandon, right?  ❞ she breaks the contact as eyes glance over her shoulder at her companion ; there’s a slight lift of her shoulders -- a shrug. whether it’s nonchalant or sympathetic even she cant decrypt. ❝ might as well scoop the place out, see what they’ve got, yeah? ❞   that’s how the world works now, right? thieves & thieves & more thieves. ❝ or, what they had ---- ❞
