This is an illustrated guide I made as part of my co-admining work at The Middle Eastern Feminist on Facebook! It will be published there shortly.
The technique that is displayed here is a genuine one used in psychology - I forgot the name and couldn’t find it again so if you know about it, feel free to tell me!
Some could say: “Yes but you can use that technique for instances of harassment other than Islamophobic attacks!”, and my reply is: Sure! Please do so, it also works for other “types” of harassment of a lone person in a public space!!
However I’m focusing on protecting Muslims here, as they have been very specific targets lately, and as a French Middle Eastern woman, I wanted to try and do something to raise awareness on how to help when such things happen before our eyes - that way one cannot say they “didn’t know what to do”!
I’d like to insist on two things:
1) Do not, in any way, interact with the attacker. You must absolutely ignore them and focus entirely on the person being attacked!
2) Please make sure to always respect the wishes of the person you’re helping: whether they want you to leave quickly afterwards, or not! If you’re in a hurry escort them to a place where someone else can take over - call one of their friends, or one of yours, of if they want to, the police. It all depends on how they feel!
For my fellow French-speakers: I will translate it in French and post it on my page as soon as I can :)
Please don’t hesitate to share this guide as it could push a lot of people to overcome bystander syndrome!!

Okok I know this is not directly your work this is more about the "simonsays your science teacher is hot" fic based on your streamer au but I just have to rant about this
Picture this: simon just got doxxed (thankfully grace wasn't mentioned)
They're in the process of moving so the background is very empty and such, but they're still at the house. Grace is currently at work, so simon is alone rn and he doesn't like that but oh well
Also Simon's tattoo was identified recently but no one knows much about the sons of eden beyond rumors and thinking it's jsut a very intense version of Christianity (it's not)
He's streaming right now, three people have already gotten banned for mentioning either the doxxing or asking about the eden rumors
Then there's a very loud bang on the door
Chat is freaking out as they see Simon carefully looking over and getting up ready to run or fight or whatever (he's reaching over to the safe where he has a gun but chat doesn't know this)
Then they break in, stream just sees as Simon gets hit over the head with somw kind of branch by a hooded figure out of frame, he didn't even have time to mute the stream or do anything
The Webcam gets pushed out of the stand just hanging sideways off the monitor, showing the side of the room and the three figures in large brown cloaks, the back showing a tree like symbol and chat is going crazy
They hear as one of the men fights Simon and ties him dragging him closer to the other two just on the edge of frame. His arms tied behind his back and kneeling. That's when someone in chat notices "uhhh guys is it me or that one guy holding a whip?" Chat is still freaking out, mods are trying to end stream but they can't it's not working, their admin powers have been taken amd the chat is getting flooded with strange accounts and comments about some tree or whatever
The tallest man speaks looking at Simon who is currently out of frame only recognized by muffled screaming
"Oh Simon..." the man shrieks at the fact this is one of the first times any of them call him by name "I hope the father offers you some mercy" the two behind the figure speak "one with the blood" (Yes I know that's not an eden thing just let me be)
"One with the blood!" The taller one repeats raising his arms and lowering the flexible branch pointing it at Simon, who is barely seen on the edge of frame when his head gets pushed down to his knees
The mods are trying everything they can to end stream but it seems it has been taken over somehow
The man takes the muffle off Simon and commands him "speak now so you may atone your sin. one with the blood brother simon"
Simon doesn't speak just panting and coughing in pain
All chat hears is a scream as the man hits him with the branch "speak my brother so your sin may be washed by the blood"
Finally between coughs and cries Simon speaks words he swore he would never say again "one with the blood" he cries out
Grace is sitting in the teachers lounge, nervous out of his mind. Ever since Simon got doxxed Melissa had been expelled and he had been very scared of going outside
"Breaking news!" The shitty TV in the room spoke out interrupting whatever corny movie had been playing, every teacher and even the principal turned to look in surprise
"Twitch icon SimonSays reported missing after what was identified as three members of the radical cult "sons of eden" raided his home and allegedly kidnapped him in the middle of stream" the image besides the woman shows the replay of the stream as Simon's blurry figure gets hit out of frame, it cuts to a somewhat blurry still of the back of one of the hooded figures showing the image of the sacred tree. The woman was explaining something about how they identified the suspects through that symbol and other stuff about the rumours of Simon's life in the cult. Grace could barely even hear the words, stratt was the first to turn to look at him, the other teachers followed when they heard the cup shatter on the tile floor as grace dropped it from the shock, they all see as he freaks out begging the world "no this can't be real god no-" the last thing they see was stratt jsut telling him to "run" and grace ditching everything in an adrenaline filled sprint to the parking lot
Grace came home to an empty home that day
Oh my god yes!!! He gets there and police stop him and he has to tell him that he’s Simon’s husband. Asking “what happened?! Where is he?! I need you to find him please-“

Holy shit. That was amazing.
That's all you can think of as you exit the venue. You just saw your favorite band, Mindless Self Indulgence.
All the iconic bits were there: piss drinking, backbends, borderline making out between Jimmy and Steve, stripping (almost) naked, etcetera.
But the most important thing was LynZ. She was memorizing. She bent over backwards to put on a great show-- literally! She was beautiful, as always. Her adorable smile shown bright between songs, her jet-black pigtails trying their best to escape their confines looked obscenely soft. God, you wonder how it would feel to run your fingers through them. Her long, toned legs clad in fishnets, you've been on a wondering streak with those, too. "I hope so," you lean in too, a sudden bout of confidence overtaking you.
"Hmm, you're real cute when you ask for it... I'm gonna take a page out of James' book," she grins. "Hey! Anyone got a sharpie?!" Lindsey holds out her hand. Within seconds, one is plopped into her hand. "Take of your shirt."
You falter. "What?!"
"Don't you want something signed, doll?"
You nod. You think you know where this is going. You obey.
The tip of the sharpie presses into your flesh. Lindsey's intense focus on your chest makes a dampness between your thighs make itself known.
"Stay still," she orders, your squirming making her furrow her brow a bit.
You immediately comply. Something about her just makes you trust her. She knows what's best for you.
"Good girl," she purrs after the last flick of the marker.
You almost black out at that.
"Oh, you like that don't you? How about we head back to my hotel, if you're so eager to please."
You nod.
...
You're bent over the bed, your idol's silicone dick pounding you to an inch of your life.
