My problem comes when those who like things more ‘vanilla’ in the fandom try to accuse other creators of ‘normalizing’ or ‘romanticizing’ or ‘fetishizing’ things like rape or sa, let alone going as far as to say fan writers are the ones allowing abuse to continue in community over their works content. Especially when many of us creators are abuse survivors ourselves. It’s really the pot calling the kettle black.

I mean, you guys know things like murder and violence are also permanently traumatizing and scaring people irl? Right? Why is gruesome violence the exception, like violence and self harm is honestly itself kinda glorified in these spaces, No? But it’s the squeamishness at writers expressing other trauma like sa that always get’s called fetishization.

You know what I have yet to hear? Someone raping someone in the name of reliving a creepypasta they read.

Wanna know what has happened? Two girls attempting to KILL another one because they were obsessed with the escapist fantasy of a Slender Mansion that takes in misfit kids, misfit kids who get to kill their (underage) bullies. The lighthearted take of extreme violence like mass murder that this fandom has, has in my opinion caused more harm than the writers who try making things more grounded to reality and criminal psych.

Genuinely, fuck you if you try telling other creators, who ourselves are csa and heavy child abuse/neglect victims, that we are perpetuating our very traumas by being realistic with writing violence in fiction. Trust me, it’s not the creators who like grounded horror who normalize rape. It’s the people who treat any violence as just a haha quirky thing because anything else is too uncomfortable.

the outside? that is experiencing borderline inhabitable weather most times of the year? that has polluted air and water and zero actual safe spaces for kids to hang out without being chased off for loitering?? plus, not everyone wants to be outside 24/7 and not everyone can be outside 24/7. you can whine about how children in the 80s used to spend all of their time outside but you have to realize there's a massive difference in how the world operates today and we can't just go back to it. and if you want your kid to go outside so bad, make them! take their phone! stop giving shitty parents grace by insisting the state should be regulating these things! stop excusing your own bad behavior. stop making excuses to be complicit

still bad. even with a good community where children can disperse, it doesn't excuse surveillance. so many people online are ignorantly in support of these bans without even knowing how they're going to be implemented. id and facial scans. is that not insane? is that not alarming??
