some of you need to reconnect with nature. and by nature i mean the source material.

Ok sorry breakdown not actually over lol like I KNOW everyone who works on all tv shows work very hard and even the worst quality tv show is the result of years and years of hard work. But it’s genuinely so devastating to see how hard the cast and crew of severance worked, how much care and attention to detail they put into that show, how they could have taken the easy way out so many times and instead insisted on using practical effects and actual real film etc, how they cared more about crafting a good show than rushing out the season, not to mention ALL of the campaigning they did — only to be snubbed in favor of the millionth basic medical drama. Whatever. Good art doesn’t need recognition because it’s good enough that it exists at all, especially in this era where practically all original stories never make it past their pilot eps, but damn severance deserved that win.

I need Mark Scout and Helena Eagan to yearn, confess, share a drink, share too much. "Why did you do it?" he asks. "You know, with him. The other me." He waits for an answer. "Because I was lonely. And you.. he... cared about me. I mean, her. He cares about her." The admission makes the air feel heavy and stagnant and hot. "And what about now?" he asks. "Are you still lonely?" His intentions are unclear, even to himself. She stares at her hands as they fidget with her glass on the table. "Helena..." he says softly, and she looks up at him, eyes sad, lips pursed, corners of her mouth curving to form a weak smile. Then she looks away again, small and defeated. Mark studies her face. "..Helly?" he says, hesitantly. Helena's eyes rise up to meet his. That is not her name, so why does she feel like it belongs to her when he says it? They stare at each other. It feels like the first time, the last time, the hundredth. They barely know each other, yet somehow they are in love. This is the end of Severance season 3 episode 1.
