Throwback to June last year, in the first month of Romy's lease with Honeybrook Canterbury. Feeling the 🌶️ bringing him back into work.
Romy had been in a rare good mood. Had being the key word. She now felt quite miserable as Center threatened to dump her, face first, into the arena footing for what felt like the umpteenth time in 15 minutes.
"He's in good form," called Steve, leaned against the fence with the lazy composure of a man who had arrived purely to witness someone else’s suffering.
"Shut up, Steve." came through very gritted teeth, as Center twisted through the air.
"No, really," He went on mildly. "Very expressive through the back."
"It's because you are annoying, he was perfectly good yesterday." her voice strained with effort.
"I'll keep quiet then."
They neared the gate, Center tossed his head and attempted a spin that rivalled a polo horse which Romy caught and straightened.
Steve nodded, "Better."
"I thought you were keeping quiet."
His lips twitched, "I changed my mind."
As they continued the canter around the arena, Romy focused on not providing a reaction to Center's theatrics, just quick, firm corrections. With a bit more fuss, half hearted bucking, and Steve pleasantly calling out very unhelpful tips like "Try sitting.", Center finally, finally settled down. Both of them stood breathing heavily as Romy awarded him with heavy pats on the side of his neck. She swung her feet out the stirrups and stuck her tongue out at Steve, who pushed off the fence towards them. "I wouldn't-" she started as Center pinned his ears back. But Steve neatly dodged a nip and scratched the stallion between his eyes. "All bark." he told him as Center immediately softened. Romy glared.
"Alright you get on him then," she stretched her arm down, offering the reins. Steve waved it away, "I'd rather live, thank you."
She snorted, her lips twisting into a real smile. Center huffed out a breath beneath her. Steve moved back to his spot against the fence, "Go jump something before he remembers he's dramatic."
This weekend Elena and Ani went to Australia to participate in one of the major events this year! Elena was not expecting Kazuha to get such good results from one of Kuse’s shows, but he surprised her. This meant he was finally ready to get back into the show ring, this time for real.
Unfortunately he got a little bit nervous at one of the jumps and knocked down a pole, but Elena was still happy with him nonetheless. Kiwi, of course, gracefully flew over every single obstacle without an issue.

It was time to get ready for inspection. Linette was rummaging around making a mess, which probably reflected her nervous mind. She, as always, had all the steps written down, in case she would forget. Remember to use showsheen, use black elastics for the button braids, DON’T let Magic snack before hand etc…. Which probably didn’t suit Magic too much
Magic cleared the inspection looking more flawless than ever, and was awarded a few apples back at the tents, finally being able to make himself a bit dirty with some juices and apple bits.
How would you feel about doing a little character questionnaire? A very easy, very straightforward one, where you simply bold your answers; minimal thinking required. You might even enjoy it (wouldn't that be shocking?) I thought it might be a nice, gentle way for people who are interested in character development, collaborating and/or storytelling but aren't sure how to proceed or are daunted by the prospect to dip their toes into the water... or a nice distraction for those who are already doing these things. :)

A horse with an incredible endowment for dressage. Being friendly, well mannared and interested in learning new tasks. One of his quirks is that he doesn't like to get his tail braided up! However he's got one thing in common with his rider Freddie: they both can't stand to get wet or even enter puddles.
Still finding themselves together as a team, Freddie and Dan didn't show that much in the last time but their improvement during their training they not only showed their abilities in the Dressage Golden Crown II Dressage Test but also were able to represent our country during the EQ Olympics in Paris! It was very exciting but they weren't really lucky with the weather during their test. Poor guys, hahah
