It’s funny how there was originally going to be a literal Confrontation 2 back when I was scheming all this stuff in like 2006.. and it got less and less edgy.. until finally it kinda changed intentions completely as I grew up and got better as a writer.
The original plan even had a bunch of hints throughout the story at the time (a lot of them removed during the omnibus, some stuff was really innocuous therefore can be overlooked - did you know the Blasto contest was tied to it?). Version 2 of the concept was still edgy, but more.. cathartic? Interesting? I still kinda like it, not gonna lie, even though it’s pretty stupid and crazy.
I admit I might make that version as a BCI one day.. it’s essentially a branching path. A character was supposed to do something that would trigger this event to happen.. but I changed it so they didn’t.. and now we have the current path we’re following. So I can always make them do the other thing and see this crazy path I was gonna do!!!
