Christina looked down at Caleb as she was horrible as she hated to do this. But she had orders.  “Caleb, I know that things are hard….But these are from our leaders.  I have orders. I have already defied the leadership once by disregarding the temporary cease order last time.    “I almost lost my job then.  I can’t go against this order.”She added honestly. She stood up as she looked down as she came over to him putting a hand on his shoulder. “Caleb, I know Tris is strong.  She will pull through this.  I just hope it is time before that I have to do something that will haunt me for the rest of my life.  Because Tris, is my friend to ….I have been there for her since our first days in Dauntless.  I don’t know if you know this but she saved me from falling into the chasm. She gave me strength”She added. “I hope she pulls through..”
Four looked down and he could not speak as he walked over to the door and opened it and shut it hard as he tried to keep his anger.  The new recruits would be coming soon and this wasn’t something he had to handle at the moment.  Christina looked up at the sudden outburst.  She went after him. “Tobi”She said as he turned. “What?”he asked.”I am sorry this is not the news that you want to hear…but I have no …choice”She added.Â
Two weeks pass, she saw Caleb constantly by Tris. Never leaving her side.  She had tried to get him to leave to let him get some rest. He wouldn’t ….She brought food to him and went about her rounds. She felt sorry for tris. She really did. But if she didn’t wake in two weeks.  She would have no choice… or lose her job and become Factionless. Â
Two days later, Tris was starting to stir when she felt a hand on hers and she rubbed it gently as she winced opening her eyes. Â She panicked, as she could feel something down her throat and started to gag to try and take it out.Â
He knew that Christina’s hands were practically tied here, if she didn’t follow orders she would be facing the consequences. It wasn’t fair that things had to be this way. A small sigh escaped his lips as he nodded in accordance to her words, “I know, I know… and I bet if Tris could, she would thank you for all the effort you’ve been putting forward… I just wish there was something we could do, you know? I feel helpless.” He shot Four a sad look, receiving a similar stone hard look back.Â
All they could do now was wait, wait for Tris to pull through. Caleb couldn’t expect any other outcome. He didn’t want to believe that he might have to let his sister go at the end of the week. He wasn’t prepared to be the only surviving member of the Prior family, especially when he would have much rathered if his parents or his sister were still alive. He had to be positive and wait. Until that moment, Caleb vowed that he wasn’t going to leave his sister’s side. He wanted to be there for her when she woke up, just like how she was always there for him.Â
He spent days sitting in the chair next to her hospital bed, the only thing keeping him company was the small beeps that would come from her heart monitor. It was scary seeing Tris like this. She was so strong but there laying in the hospital bed hooked up to countless machines, she looked like a child almost. Caleb would talk to her talk to time, just in case she could hear him. Telling her that she was going to pull through and things would be fine again. Feeling particularly tired from his sleepless nights of waiting, Caleb had begun to close his eyes for a moment. But, his eyes quickly opened again when he heard the choked sounds coming from beside him. It couldn’t be. His gaze quickly met Tris and he panicked, he couldn’t believe that she was awake. “Calm down Tris! Calm down, you’re gonna hurt yourself!” He tried to calm her down, knowing that she would hurt her throat if she kept tugging on the tube.Â
“CHRISTINA! TOBIAS! COME HERE, QUICKLY!” He yelled his loudest, hoping they would come as quickly as possible.
He is a part of me, always will be, and I am a part of him, too. I don’t belong to Abnegation, or Dauntless, or even the Divergent. I don’t belong to the Bureau or the experiment or the fringe. I belong to the people I love, and they belong to me—they, and the love and loyalty I give them, form my identity far more than any word or group ever could. “Caleb,” I say, “I love you.” His eyes gleam with tears as he says, “I love you, too, Beatrice.” Caleb sinks to his knees. “If I don’t survive,” I say, “tell Tobias I didn’t want to leave him.”
Note: I caught a really bad cold yesterday and I’m really sick, so my replies and activity will either be a bit slow or sporadic. When I do reply, please try to bear with the possible typos or grammatical errors that might be included. I want to get better before finals week.

Christina had seen Tobi come back with Tris unconscious in his arms.  What the hell had happened out there. Second years weren’t really allowed in the battle and now that they were back. The new system allowed certain cases that those that defactioned to return to their faction of choice.  Running over after helping some other wounded she looked to Tobi. “What the hell happened out there?”She asked …No demanded.  Tris had blood coming from her shoulder with a makeshift bandage and it was like the two had been in the wild for a while or at least away from the comforts of the city. The raid had not gone as planned.  Everything had been spinning out of control. The mission was purely to rescue Tris’s brother Caleb from Prison and then return to the compound. Â
She had been studying medicine with Tori and then the notification of her death. Made her the unofficial head medical personal for Dauntless. Not something she wanted but she would take on willingly. Â Hearing about how Caleb was allowed by Eric to become Dauntless was here in the compound under surveillance and would be under guard until such a time he could be trusted. Â
While in the operating room with Uriah she tried everything she could possibly do. Â They decided it was best to put him in a medically induced coma. Â Same with Tris. Hopefully she would be able to return to them and come out of the a coma in time. Â Before such a time was that they would have to discontinue life support to Tris and pronounce her dead.
Days passed, then months, and now almost 2 and a half years later she sighed. Â She had to make a decision. Â She was given the order to stop life support on Dauntless Member Tris Prior and pronounce her physically deceased as there was nothing more they could do. Unless by some miracle that within the next month, Tris would be able to pull out of the coma. Â Caleb and been let out of his Seclusion due to him being on good behavior and now was a full fledged member of Dauntless. Â
Over the past two years, Tobi and Caleb had become close remembering Tris …Before all of this…And their parents.  Seeing the two in the common area of the hospital wing where both were on their spare time between their duties and taking turns watching and taking care of Tris…She walked over to them with a solemn look on her face.
“Caleb….Tobias….we need to talk …In my office..Now"she said briefly before she started to move towards that direction expecting them to follow. Â
She waitied as the two were in the room and shut the door behind them, “Guys, I am sorry to let you both know that….That, I received  irrefutable orders today.  ”She said going behind her desk after hanging her white coat up on the hangar and then sat down, “I was ordered to remove Life Support from Tris at the end of the month if she doesn’t pull out of the coma by herself”She said informing the two wondering what their reaction would be .
Guilt had weighed down on Caleb’s shoulders for the duration of his stay in Dauntless. Sure, his life was more bearable now that he was free from free. But, no one seemed to really trust him. Not that he had given anyone good reason to. Yet, the one person who still overlooked all of his flaws was now currently critically injured and it was partially --  all -- his fault. It was the strongest wave of guilt he had felt, more than when he had chosen Erudite and been labeled as a traitor.
Caleb had been waiting tirelessly, hoping that he would hear positive news on his sister’s condition. Hoping that she would open her eyes. He wasn’t prepared to lose the only member of his family, the only person that trusted and loved him. Yet, days went on and on without any sign of change in his sister’s health. It felt as if the weight of the world had been placed upon his shoulders.
With no one to really turn to for comfort, Caleb had relied solely on Four. Overtime as they carried for Tris and both worried their heads off, they became closer. Now that they had a common bond tying them together it seemed easier to see eye to eye. They both only wanted the best, and what was best was for Tris to get better and be back on her feet. Although, they weren’t really entirely sure if this was a realistic goal or not.
As time went on, dragging on slowly. Things didn’t seem like they would improve. But, Caleb had to keep a positive attitude. No matter how much his logical reasoning was kicking in and telling him to be realistic about the situation at hand. But, neither he or Four wanted to admit just exactly how grim everything was looking right now.
Though, Caleb knew that Tris would have been proud of him. As two years dragged on, he had been released from Seclusion and was an official member of Dauntless. He was earning his stripes and trying his best to fit in -- even though he had a few off moments where he felt as if he didn’t belong. He knew that he needed to be brave, for Tris.
Although, it was going to be rather difficult to be brave on a day like this. Caleb and Tobias had been waiting in the hospital wing per usual to see Tris, everything seemed normal. Until Christina emerged from her office, a solemn expression etched across her face. This could not be good. A lump formed in Caleb’s throat as he swallowed thickly, his stomach practically doing somersaults.
Obediently, he followed her into her office when she addressed them. Hoping that things had not taken a turn for the worse. As the door was shut behind them, Caleb felt the walls closing  in around him. Christina’s words only made the feeling worse, his anxiety heightening to a new all time high. He breathed out a shaky breath as tears formed in his eyes. He could only shake his head in protest for a moment. Not wanting her words to be true.Â
“No, you can’t do this Christina. There has to be something we can do. She’s strong… you know that, she’s going to pull through this eventually. We just need more time.” He tried his best to remain calm, but it just wasn’t working right now. “Please… I can’t lose my sister.”

Faction before blood. More than family, our factions are where we belong. Can that possibly be right?
