you can't just switch off years of unhealthy behaviors, negative thought patterns, and counterproductive emotions. but u can recognize them and be like 'i'm not engaging. this isn't the end of the world. i'm box breathing. i'm not giving those thoughts attention; i'm acknowledging them and letting them go. i'm going to take a break when i can.' don't be hard on yourself if it doesn't work or you do something that feels like you've set yourself back. that doesn't help, either, lol

The whole point of life… is to change, to evolve, to grow. Don't resist it, embrace it.

Healing taught me that honesty wouldn't ruin a real thing. Speaking about your feelings won't lose you anything worth having. Setting boundaries won't scare off proper people. & authenticity won't cost you genuine relationships.

you can buy expensive things. you can follow trends. you can try to mirror the aesthetic of someone else. but real taste (the kind that can’t be replicated) is about perception. it’s about knowing what to leave out. it’s about sensitivity to detail, contrast, proportion. it’s something internal, not external. something you cultivate, with intention and focus. something personal to you. so much of modern society tries to take that away and dictate back to you what you ought to like instead. your taste is your identity; be sure to honour that.

Friends who hold you accountable and push you to be better while still respecting their lane are necessary.
