don’t compare your life to other people’s. everyone has different paths and different timelines that happen at varying paces. experiences are rarely going to line up. someone accomplishing a milestone before you does not mean you’re behind. someone finding success before you does not make you a failure. someone getting married before you does not mean you never will. life is not a race. they’re not beating you at anything. what is meant for you will come in time. be patient, work hard, and believe in yourself. you’ll be rewarded soon.

You need someone who wants to be there when it’s messy and when it’s hard, not just when it’s fun and when it’s convenient. And you need someone who chooses you when it might not be the easiest choice. And you need someone who would rather do nothing with you than anything in the world with someone else.

You are a butterfly in the making.

The purpose of life is not to become something. From the very moment that you are born, you already are something - you are everything. You are everything you need to be and you have so much potential inside of you. At any stage of your life, you will always be something, my love. You do not have to be in certain relationships, graduate from university, find a well-paying job or fulfill any other ‘requirements’ to be a worthy human being. No matter what, you will always have value.

This one is for you: For the person who never lets anyone see their demons or the battle they are fighting inside their head; for the person who gives everything to help those in need but does not seem to get the same care back; for the person who is hurting inside but hiding it with a smile on the outside even though what fills their nights are dark thoughts and cries; this one is for you, my love. I want you to know that I see you. I see right through the mask you are putting on every day and I am here to tell you that you can put it down. Drop it. Finally let those feelings out. It is okay. It is okay. I am here. I will not judge. I will support you as you heal in your own way.
