Today,there is more glitter and sparkle on my face than normal... because today,May the Fourth,I am wearing all the sparkles to honor Carrie Fisher, her life and work to #endthestigma While I've never fallen into the Star Wars sagas,I've always admired Carrie and the way she advocated for mental health awareness. It's said that Carrie used glitter as a coping mechanism-her therapist always knew the degree of her depression episodes by the amount of glitter she was wearing. She also shared glitter with her fans and during public appearances. To that I say: find your way of coping. Be it purple hair and glitter or whatever. Sparkle on. Thankfully,I've been surrounded by quality people that make my dark days brighter and I've had the help I've needed,but so many people don't have access to the help they need. Start conversations.
