Mini mansions ( the great pretenders ) alt pop from Los Angeles, the queens of the Stone Age bass players side project, which includes vocal cameos from Alex turner ( arctic monkeys ) and the inimitable Brian Wilson. Engaging, interesting and excellent. Blur (magic whip ) their first offering for 16 years and it’s as if they’ve never been away. Spiky indie pop music with great melodies and well observed lyrics. Jane weaver ( the silver globe) her sixth record takes a space rock turn including hawkwind samples and a clear sensibility to all things spacey.
