there’s a common factor(s) in what causes lottie to be rejected, and what causes her to actually be successful with shauna.

her rejection by shauna is almost always because of lottie ignoring boundaries - specifically whenever it comes to shauna’s child. we see that a lot in s2. shauna hates when anyone does it, but especially when lottie does it. We even see that in s3 when lottie put the necklace on Callie, which resulted in her being screamed at and kicked out.

but what usually causes lottie to be successful with shauna ? violence. the main reason we saw them coming together in the later part of s3 was because of violence. Lottie gave shauna the vote needed to execute ben. lottie kills Edwin and shauna smiled brighter than she has since god knows when. And the hunt in the finale, they both wanted it. they were on each other sides and lottie helped finish the count for her. it’s all tied to violence if you really think about it.

that’s why I’m so confident that s4 will actually bring them closer together than we’ve ever seen them. they both want to stay in the wilderness, they both want to continue hunts, and they both are very willing to cannibalize their teammates.

it was way too intimate, and honestly in a way.. its surprising? I’ve always been a fan of lottieshauna, way before s3 and I’ve always known they had a weirdly deep tether with each other, but I would have never guessed that shauna would react the way she did in that bedroom. something’s missing from this puzzle and I think we’ll see what exactly that missing piece is in s4.

I think they got close before they left the wilderness, and Lottie going catatonic when they returned home was probably really hard on Shauna.

Feel like Shauna will almost accept Lottie's death in a sense, because her attempts to get through to her won't wake her up. So when she gets sent away, Shauna will just bury that pain like she does with everything else.

we know that shauna was the first person to realize that she was taking medication, and we can assume that she was also the first person to have realized when she ran out of those meds in season one. and we also know that shauna clearly understood and seemed to even emphasize with her because she knew that lottie wasn’t well.

so maybe having kept that secret for so long, and lottie becoming catatonic - effectively getting her sent away when they got home made shauna feel guilty because she knew, and maybe felt like she hadn’t done enough.
