You know, having your angel around was weird. Sure, everyone had an angel and saw them from time to time, Michael wasn’t dumb. He knew that much. But what was weird and off about Michael’s, was the fact that his practically never left.

When he was younger it was great. Most people just chalked it up to his imaginary friend, but having his angel, Jeremy, around constantly was just what he could have wished for. His angel gave him the friend he needed, right when he needed it.

In middle school, Michael got a bit pissy honestly. Sometimes he just wanted to be left alone, but it was truly better for Jeremy to say. He saw that now. If Jeremy was one of those angels who only came at certain times, those times were probably when he would have appeared anyways.

Even throughout high school, Jeremy was always there with him. Angels take on the appearance that is best suited for the person they watch over, and for Michael, that meant having Jeremy grow up alongside him, from his childhood best friend to him now.

After all these years of being beside Jeremy, Michael had learned a lot. He learned about the world, about have much even the little things in life matter, and honestly, he learned how to truly love himself. He also taught a thing or two to Jeremy. He taught him video games, let him experience as close as he could the real life of humans, and even showed him love.

Michael never thought he’d fall in love when he was younger. Just didn’t feel it was a fit for him when he never really felt that close to another person. He learned so much later that was because he was in love, so much earlier than he thought he would be.

He fell in love with the most perfect, amazing being he ever met, the one who stayed by his side throughout everything, the good and the bad. It was awkward at first, but he could never hide things from Jeremy, so when he did admit it he did get a surprise.

Michael still can’t believe that everything that happened, happened. Sure, his life still has the same pains as before, and Jeremy being there for him is nothing new, just because their relationship now has a romantic part to it. But, even with that, so much has changed.

He believes that even in the bottom of his heart, as he glances over the features of Jeremy’s face as he bursts into laughter over a stupid human joke. He believes it when he notices Jeremy absentmindedly start floating from where he was before. He believes it every moment of every day. Especially now.

Screams and laughter filled the air as the group of high school’s ran around in the snow. Three days til Christmas, they all believe they were going to have a green one. But as they walked out of the school to see the snow slowly starting to pile up, they had to make the best of it now.

The first thing they did was a snowball fight, of course. Jake, Christine and Michael and verse Jeremy, Brooke, and Rich. Jenna sat on the side videoing it, not wanting to get cold from the snow.

Rich’s screams filled the air as Jake shoved a handful of snow down his back, the former turning quickly to smash the snow in his hand into Jake’s face. Brooke and Christine were having fun on the side, making plans to team up to take out Jake and Rich themselves. But Michael was nowhere to be seen. And Michael, well he was Jeremy’s target of course.

It’s hard to believe that after being friends for so long, they only recently got together. After both admittedly having crushes on each other that everyone could see but themselves, just earlier that month the two of them got together.

It had honestly been the best month ever. From the hits to the compliment and just, being so close to each other, it was practically perfect. There was only one thing Jeremy would change. He would have already kissed Michael.

Jeremy was way too anxious to have kissed him already, every time he wants to he chickens out, getting too nervous that Michael wouldn’t want to or that there were too many strangers around to see. He wants the kiss, just like everything else, to be perfect. That’s what Michael deserves.

Jeremy snuck behind the back of a few cars still at the school, losing sight of the others on his treck to find Michael. He continued on his way, around to the front entrance. There he saw Michael, his back turned from him, reading a new post put up in the window. Jeremy smiled to himself, creeping up slowly towards Michael with a pile of snow in hand.

Just as he was about to be close enough to throw it in his face from behind, Michael turned around, grabbing Jeremy’s arm and making him drop the snow. “Sneak attacks aren’t very nice Jer, at least give a man a chance,” He fake scolded, a smirk growing on his face.

”Said man should have been paying attention,” Jeremy joked back. He noticed Michael’s eyes drift off from him as he spoke. ”You aren’t even paying attention now!” He exclaimed.

”I am, just not to the fight, ” Michael spoke, just barely above a whisper as he still looked up. Jeremy followed his gaze to see that the two of them were standing right under some mistletoe. It must have been hung by a student for a few laughs.

Jeremy’s face turned even redder than it was from the cold just a few moments before. ”We- we don’t have to if you’re not ready it’s just a stupid tradition thingy and I don’t want you to be uncomfortable with it-” He was cut off by Michael placing a kiss to his cheek.
