â what do I ⌠??  â  oh she was more or less speechless ,  her posture straightened from itâs slouch ,  now alert .  sheâd planned to maybe get a little drunk ,  have a grand old time with her buddy ,  then go back to her empty house to sulk off a hangover .  she hadn't anticipated to get a job offer . Â
â  are you hecking serious ??  â  she laughs ,  for the first time in a what felt to her like a long long while .  itâs heartfelt and loud ,  almost boisterous if her voice wasnât like nails on a chalkboard .  arms crossing she notes his previous statement too ,  feeling slightly embarrassed ,  but putting on a show anyway .  who was she to turn down a compliment when one was so readily given to her .   â  damn RIGHT Iâm the best ,  a legend on the battlefield ,  quick to shoot and even quicker on her feet  !!  âÂ
she was a terror ,  a rightful one too ,  could shoot a assailant from almost impossible distances ,  her keen eye solely focused on one task .  with a small nostalgic smile she wonders why she misses that time of her life so dearly ,  war was supposed to be awful ,  and it was ,  butâŚÂ
there was no point in dwelling on it now ,  if she wanted to revisit those memories sheâd get stuck in the again ,  sometimes by her own volition .  so she shakes herself back into the present ,  looking at the now empty pub before chuckling at the elemental   â  youâre serious arenât you ??  â  . Â
       he nods without a word.
there were details of payment, hours, training, safety protocols, food handling, tax paperwork... but he already had those thoughts melt away as he watched the pure enthusiasm from leucosia come pouring out. ah, it was good to get away from those past thoughts of war as he unknowingly agreed with the other and felt himself smile even if there werenât any lips to show it. his flames burned a little brighter as his head tilted a touch to the left, another laugh coming from him. some company would be good around here, he thought, and at least now that one bar monster wouldnât have to translate for him all of the time. but he truly thinks this would be a good opportunity for leucosia. who knew how desperately he needed this job to keep himself busy and feel connected to the rest. it was something of a cushion to land on after the fall of monsterkind.
â iâd have you start today but... â
his hand gestures vaguely to the empty restaurant and the spotless tables thanks to diligence and otherâs kindness. nothing to train or practice on, at least for today. she would be a quick learner, he figures, and if not... heâd deal with it later.
