              the audience is roaring with applause, hooting and hollering as the camera swings to focus them on the big screen.  even Mettaton is floored.  a kid, performing the splits so effortlessly?  without injury?  unheard of.  we have a splits partner on this show, now.

      without missing a beat, the idol is right beside them doing his own split before holding the mic up to his lips once again.

     he's more curious than anything, slinking his way out from the shade of a nearby tree to watch this human. ( a human? down here? the idea honestly makes him wanna laugh. he hasn't seen a human himself since the war, though he has heard plenty about the king taking human souls. ) there's a pause before — he cocks his head, gives them a bit of a grin.

          * ya try real hard, kiddo           * gotta give ya that 

      it’s pleasant and quiet, just like as always, around the echo flowers field ; it’s been a while since he allowed himself to enjoy such peaceful places, always trying to find something wrong and ugly about the kid but not this time, not when the kid is a good one trying to do the right thing. it almost reminds him of someone else he hasn’t seen in a very long time and nostalgia runs through his bones for no longer than a moment before he pushes it down quickly, laughs it away softly as one of his bad jokes.

                              ( he wonders if it’ll really last, this run. he wonders if they won’t get bored and force them into this again and again just because they can. )

he’s not unaccustomed to receiving gifts;  this one, however, strikes him as especially odd. There are few who would come bringing presents to the doctor at this time of year  ( others pick out more notable of holidays, with which some might put forward more desirous intentions )  and without much vaunted acknowledgement of their own giftbearing … he, after all, does not know any of his male colleagues to be so affectionate. They, whilst not so boastfully devoted, tend to be outwardly charmed by their own generosity.

That leaves few suspects remaining, most of them children. Though, once he’s approached the oaken desk and pulled the note from atop the box, it becomes quite clear — sharp as he is, there are few things that escape Ludwig’s eyes, those of a surgeon’s. He’s a particular eye not only for vein and flesh, but for penmanship, and it isn’t difficult to pick out amongst his acquaintances the WHO that’s left him early holiday presents.

                       it wasn’t often that a child of their size could see creatures like him  ,  even more so that they werent scared  .  with cloth draped over his boney features he tilts his head at him  .  elias wondered if they need something  ,  or if they were just there to stare  .  the latter was usually the case with him  .  and he stared right back  ,  red gaze burning at them from under the cloth  .

        joey drew studios rarely had visitors. why would it? many monsters lurked about, the demons just being the biggest threat (   so the seraph said   ).

        that only gave naomi and skye more room to explore the studio and hunt for the ink demon on skye’s behalf. it seemed like the ink demon wanted to avoid the two angels, but someday they’d manage it! naomi was rather optimistic on that front.

         today, though, naomi was on one of the upper floors, gathering cans of bacon soup to take back to level 9. it was there that she spotted something, something that looked more human than anything else.

      “ you were careless. ”

   they watch over the other human as the life comes back to them and forces their chest to rise and fall. not even a smile greets them as the ghost crosses their arm and taps a foot on the ground, waiting for anything from the human.
