The confidence in her partner is contagious, and even though Ribbit already knew they would do great, it was nice to see the Jester perk up so quickly. They hadn’t had the time to bond like some of the older members had and this sounded like the perfect way to bridge that gap and show Pomni that friendship didn’t have to be a daunting thing.

With a broad grin on her froggy face she stood next to Pomni while holding a laid back posture. Glancing at Jax and Kaufmo with an amused snort. “Who says we can’t make it a competition? You can’t tell me that Hopscotch over there wouldn’t love to up the ante a bit.” Her tone is smooth and a bit mischievous in the way it falls from her tongue. But before she can make her claim she’s greeted with a rather large… Rabbit? —

"..Nh..no..let go!"

Their voice chokes out of teeth as both hands try desperatly to tug the layer back up, her ears flopped over uselessly behind the rabbits now drooped head.

Desperately, he began to tug back their own face, before back meets the floor. It hurts, the cold hands grip like iron and in the moment the bunny can see her father again. His twisted angry face, with lips curled back to show those ugly broken teeth.

Just as yellow of her very core.

With a yelp, and a flail of paws, the ground suddenly gives way as the other falls into a choking darkness before landing again.. Eyes open and she looks up seeing a green cieling of stars, and it hits her memory like a punch to the gut. Jax slowly sat herself up with eyes darting around before landing on. ..

"....N..No..I.."

His voice was caught now in his throat, and he can only stare back at her.

"..S..Stop...go away, y-you're not here!" A sob leaps out of Jax.

Citrine eyes shut tight, then with a turn; the bunny is hoping away on all fours, only to get a few paw steps off before running face first into a sudden three way mirror. With a thud, she choked out in pain, falling back with eyes snapping open. Jax stared back into the reflection, but it was a realistic rabbit staring back, with a bullet hole between its eyes, those black eyes wet with blood, lightless, looking at her with nothing left behind..

The other hiccups, as the rabbit seemed to morph again into a frog.. Something feels wet under Jax, who darts down their gaze to see blood, it oozes from out of the mirror, turning black as it forms a bunch of glowing eyes..

It feels hot, sticky, it soaks through their fur and fabric of his glove..

"..I k-know, it is, it is my f-fault.." She whimpered.

Ribbit mourns with Jax. The loss, the deep unsettling emptiness inside him, the thick liquid that tries to consume what’s left and a taunt frown etches deeply on her lightly colored maw. Her slender arms reach out from the mirror and she presses heavy against the straight line of Jax’s back with a weight that could only be explained as guilt.

“It’s a little too late for that, Hopscotch.” Her voice is warm, the stutter settling into that deep register that hung between intimate and boldly reassuring. And as Jax sits with the weight of his decisions her arms seem to slowly tighten around his shoulders like a vice ready to squeeze everything out of them. “But don’t you worry.. I know you were just too much of a coward. Poor Jax.. always running with no where to go.” Her whispers is close to his ear. Her form glitching into a black abyss with multi colored eyes that pulse with neon colors like a strobe pulling him in. —

Tuesday, and yet another adventure awaits. They had already gone bowling in the morning, and now Caine has decided to torment them with another one so fast? It's not even lunch time. Pomni was in the middle of eating cereal when she was magically summoned along with the rest. Her eyes widen in the usual surprise as the ringmaster explains the dynamic of today. Apparently, they'll team up, and each team will be given a random pet to take care of for half a day. The jester looks around frantically, analyzing the options as the rest just try to get a partner. Then, pinwheel eyes land on Ribbit, standing there, alone. Pomni then walks towards her, tapping her fingers in slight nervousness as she smiles at the frog. "Hey, Ribbit- uh... You have a partner yet?" She asks in a soft voice.

Ribbit was use to being snapped into the main circus tent at any moment. However when she landed this time she bounces with a gentle ‘thud’ against the floor. She’d been lazily lounging in her reading nook, so her posture was prime for the fall.

Her slender froggie fingers rub soothingly at her hip as she joined the others. Her large pie-cut eyes giving Caine a lazy stare as she listen to the new objective of the day.

Babysitting? Well %$!#, this will be an easy one!

As a long digit lingers against her maw she eyes the options. Slim pickings if you ask her. but before she’s able to make her choice, the perfect one comes right to her. —
