Darth Vader #1 Kieron Gillen - Writer Salvador Larroca - Artist Edgar Delgado - Colorist This is the first Star Wars comic I've ever read. It was recommended to me last night at the bar by Daniel from the ChannelStarWars podcast and I gotta say, it was a good first dive. After reading this I'm instantly invested in what Vader is up to. There seems to be some secret scheming by the Emperor and I am interested to see where the story goes from here. The art is really nice, and I especially like how the Force is illustrated. It's simple but you understand exactly how he's using it to get his way. Darth Vader is an unapologetic bad ass who has no time for insolence. The first issue sets a great tone for the story to come and I'm looking forward to the rest

X-Factor #39 Such a satisfying end to Mr. Sinister! After all the crap he's put Scott and Madelyne through, it feels good to watch him get obliterated by some optic fury. Good thing he'll never trouble the X-Men again...

X-Factor Forever #2 Cameron Hodge is hands down one of the creepiest villains but I'd also argue that he is one of the best. This mans hatred for Warren Worthington III, and X-Factor, knows no bounds. You'd think after having his head chopped off by Archangels wings and then attached to a giant robot spider monster by a technoorganic demon, he'd be a little more chill. Let it known, Cameron Hodge has NO chill. I really wish they would have kept the detail of his hanging cardboard cutout. This takes his creepiness to a new level. That photo is from X-Factor #60 during the X-Tinction Agenda storyline. How scary would it be to talk to a floating head, that skitters around on robot legs, wants death to all mutants, all while trying to ignore the fact that there is a cardboard suit dangling from its neck? Also, ignore the Genoshan President that looks an awful lot like Ronald Regan in heels...

All New Wolverine #10 If you are a burglar, and you decide to climb up a fire escape to break into an apartment, make sure the apartment doesn't have three individuals (and an actual f*%@ing wolverine) in it that can easily kill you. Worst criminals ever. Also, this whole "grandpa from another future" thing just feels a little strange since that's not really true. It's impossible that this Logan is just a Logan from the future since OG Logan was encased in adamantium before Mysterio could trick him into killing all of the X-Men. Alternate reality version, sure. Dystopian future version, not so much. It's still funny that he is trying to bond with Gabby over violence though.

All New Wolverine #9 Ok so I'm posting all the pictures in one post so I don't flood my, or any followers, page with single pics and commentary. Also, Is this how you Tumblr?? In this issue we see Laura bounding down the throat of FFF, Old Man Logan is useless when it comes to saving himself, and Wolverine and Carol have some serious history of physical/emotional/sexual abuse. I absolutely love when artists draw an action scene like the one where Laura is bouncing off the walls of Fin Fang Fooms esophagus. I remember The Immortal Iron Fist doing it a lot too to show a fight sequence. I think it makes the medium of comics feel more organic and natural instead of just still frames. Logan just sat there, stewing in dragon stomach acid. Like, what? "Oh I'll just sit here with my legs constantly being digested until someone comes to save me." The entire rescue mission is capped off by a perfect jet pack joke from Gabby. Laura started out in comics as a teenage sex worker who catered to sadomasochistic men that enjoyed being cut or beating on a young girl with a healing factor. And Carol, woah Carol, she once gave birth to her own rapist in Avengers #200. So yeah, these women have been plagued by "monsters" their whole lives.

Apparently I've started collecting the Hellfire Club. Gotta start with the White King and Queen of course. Needs more bondage...
