Never saw the harm in hiding

My peace of mind

I try to keep your spirit close

But I’m afraid of how long it will last..

I’m wired differently

i would bottle the moon for you

if i could.

secretly hoping

its pull will keep me

close to you.

i’d hack time

find its axis

and ride out every change

through which it will try 

to let me drift away.

just so I can keep holding up

this mirror

just cause i don’t want to deny you

this kind of love

this type of wonder

that I see.

i never wanted to chain you

i only ever wanted to show you

the light you emit.

i drew you my heart

and i’d continue to

from every angle,

every shape in which

it still loves you.

as long as you give me that smile

and those squinty eyes

and say thank you.

i know you never asked me

to give you the world

its fields and hights

its maps and constellations

I tried to decorate

the one we created

make you feel at home

just cause i could

even though i always knew

what lied beyond

know that i’ve let you go

i can’t stay in a world
