Doylist: Why was Valentino, a monsterous rapist, written as so stupid he can't help but rape and exploit others? Why is Valentino treated with more grace then say, Mimzy, whos biggest crime is wanting to hide out in the hotel from some shark gangsters and accidently lead them to the hotel. (Lets talk about how Angel Dust living at the hotel puts them all in danger from Valentino. Why is it written that Angel Dust, time and time again, despite many ways that would make sense in story for him to escape/kill val/break his contract, always has to go back to his horrible situation??

Post so horrible I came out of retirement to scream. Are they implying that Valentino is a monsterous rapist because he's just too stupid to understand what consent means?? The sad thing is, real life treatment of actual rapists isnt even as far off. People make excuses, bemoan how the accusations will ruin the perpetrators life and try EVERYTHING to push the blame on the victim instead. Victims are terrified to come forwards-and for good reason! Jail time for sexual assualt is usually very short, if even served at all, even for crimes against children.
I can't imagine being a Hazbin Hotel fan who has exprinced anything like what Valentinos victims have, maybe who even see themself in Angel Dust* (for all my ragging on his treatment and character, I could see how a victim of similar circumstances might be comforted by a depiction of an "imperfect" victim who is still worthy of sympathy and help) watch Vivziepop and company treat Valentino like hes some kind of adorable air headed bimbo thats so stupid he can't help but abuse and rape others.

I finally forced myself to watch the last two eps of Hazbin 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️ and you know what really pisses me off above everything else?
So while everyone else is fighting the Vees or trying to stop the big angel cannon, Charlie and Emily are helping "resuce" sinners from the rubble
But, WHY ISNT SHE GOING INTO SUPER POWER DEMON MODE?????
She's like reaching for people and like running around but??? SHE HAS SUPER POWERS????
Charlie is literally the strongest out of everyone in the fight, and we know she'd rather not fight and she's not the best fighter anyway, but why isn't she using her ANGELIC SUPERPOWERS TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE????
I HATE how Charlie gets pushed to the side while all the other characters get to use their powers to help in the fight. She could be using her firework powers to blast rubble out of the sky to save sinners, she has a trident she can use a crowbar or something, she has a whole ass DRAGON she can fly around on. WHY WASNT CHARLIE ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING COOL THIS SEASON?????
Her character was already massacred when the writers mistook her well-meaning naivety for stupidity, but she wasn't even allowed to do anything cool in the big boss fight of the season.

oh man the now TEN YEAR OLD shitty anime that I still remember sometimes like "why".
Remember when Ikuhara, one of the creators of the most feminist anime of all time, made the "Homophobia is caused by by closeted lesbians" anime with the plot of "It's your destiny to be soulmates with this murderous bear in a tacky showgirl outfit that helped get your girlfriend eaten (By another bear who's also an anime girl) to get with you, because you were friends as kids and your dead mom made a storybook about you and the showgirl bear getting together" and instead of the stock footage in Utena being Utena going to the duel arena its a weirdly uncomfortable dubcon metaphorical lesbian sex scene of naked teenagers licking phallic lillies.

speaking more globally... well, Asileverse!Alastor DOESN'T have far-reaching complicated plans, he's not a hidden villain, he doesn't have some kind of tragedy (he had some worries during his mortal life, but they're in the past), he's more like Loki from Northern European mythology who studies this world, gets bored, breaks into the established order, and breaks it a little (or a lot) just to see what happens after!
however, Alastor was a human once and able to petty attachments, so Charlie's gang are very lucky that he genuinely wonders how it will end!
one of the main plot points in Asileverse!AU is that in the 2nd global arc Alastor slits Valentino's throat with a dagger made of blessed steel
because Alastor ABSOLUTELY despise such kind of men as rapists
