Okay but let’s just put to the side that Cube most likely won’t recover from this one. Let’s talk about the really fucked up precedent they just set within kpop for future “dating” scandals. They literally basically reinforced the shitty idea that fans have some sort of ownership over what happens in an idol’s personal life and if said idol does begin dating publically that they can throw a big enough tantrum to ruin that idol’s career. Like I don’t know about anybody else but that’s an utterly terrifying thought. Idols are humans who deserve to be able to love and live their lives in peace without their “fans” thinking they have a say in their personal lives. It’s beyond fucked and now I worry about what message this sends out to any idol whoever wants to begin pubically dating or get married in the future.
