everyone loves to hate terfs until they realise that it actually entails rejecting bioessentialism entirely and then suddenly you’re “taking things too seriously” and you “don’t have a sense of humour” like i’m sorry but saying protect the dolls doesn’t make you immune to terfism it has seeped into every corner of mainstream feminism and unless you’re actively searching it out and checking your own biases you will always be at risk of sharing a space with terfs

I kind of miss the impulsivity that certain spaces used to allow. oh you want a hair cut today? hairdresser in the corner can fit you in before her 2 o’clock. tattoo of a cobra… sure leg or arm? even concerts, back when you could go to the box office thirty mins before any show. not saying these things don’t exist at all, but everything feels booked five months in advance and 10x more expensive

it is funny when people who don’t draw tell people who do “i can’t even draw a circle”. a shape that is notoriously difficult for artists to get right on the first try. or “i can’t even draw a straight line,” something many artists literally have to practice drawing over and over again as a warmup exercise

you don’t deserve to be confined to some bleak room playing video games for the rest of your lives. you don’t deserve to live in a world where cis people and men project their fantasies and disgust onto your bodies. you don’t deserve to merely survive. you deserve to grow. you deserve to feel your own feelings without shame. you deserve the freedom to cry out and take up space. you deserve joy
