I'm fine, it's just a result of looking into this book for too long. Once I start hyper focusing on one, it'll take a while to get what I need out of it.

I don't really pick a style, it's just what I want to wear that day, y'know? One day it might be... fishnets and chains, the next it's a paint stained T-shirt and plaid pajama pants.

[He lifts up a bit of hair from the side of his head to show off a black bluetooth earbud with a smug grin on his face.]

[Gerry flinched and sat up straight. The dark purple ring of eyes resting on the back of his head folded in on itself and vanished as he broke out of the trance-like state of knowing the book.]

Shit--!

[He sighed deeply, rubbing his face with his hands. Gerry pushed the book to the side and stood up. He took a step forward and almost fell over from a sudden dizziness before grabbing the closest chair arm for balance.]

Son of a bitch... Come on, out of the bag.

[He carefully opened the bag to reveal a small book nestled into the soaked canvas. The cover of the book featured a set of divers walking, or perhaps running away, along the seabed. Around them, large clusters of coral dotted the surrounding floor while thick strands of kelp and seaweed floated above.

In the background, however, a large shape could just barely be seen. Its eyes shone menacingly in the dim illustrated light, and Gerry couldn't quite place if it was looking at the divers... or at him. The book's title was embossed with raised silver letters. 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. He quickly checked the inside for the typical Leitner bookplate and nodded to himself. Sitting down on the floor, Gerry began to go through the book's contents.]

Sorry, I dunno if you're even still alive. I've been on my own 'hunt' so to speak. Do you still need to get into the Archives? I can get you in mostly unseen. As long as nobody has to get hurt, the only suspicion that'd be raised is probably Elias's. But, I can distract him if needed. He's not particularly keen on me anyway.

The Spiral is a... pain in the ass, putting it lightly. I don't like it. Sure, other Fears change you physically and mentally and contort you into something ungodly, a shell of what you used to be if you're lucky. But when the Twisting Deceit does it, it's somehow worse. You're slowly going mad, the changes are much more gradual. You don't realize you were right to worry until it's too late. It's the best kind of psychological horror, and it's awful. The Spiral maims you without ever shedding a drop of blood.

She asked for help. She wanted someone to hear her, and my ass was AWOL getting that stupid... [He sighs.] I hope she's ok. Or, I guess it now. I shouldn't have left, but it's not like I had a choice.

[Gerry sat back in his computer chair, reading the words on the screen over and over. He had been gone for a while and hadn't even looked at his inbox until now. Watching the letters twist and curl around each other made his head hurt, but his heart ached even more.]

[Someone had called out for help and he wasn't there to do so. Someone was suffering and he wasn't there to ease the pain. Gerry took a deep breath, resting his head on the desk to keep his emotions private. Nobody needed to see but his patron.]

Bold of you to assume I haven't killed before. And won't hesitate to do so again if it's needed.

[He gestures towards the still sopping wet bag on the floor.]

Fuck, I'm gonna need a shower...

[He grumbles, tossing the bag unceremoniously to the side. Before he starts for the bathroom, his eyes are drawn to his laptop screen, lit up and waiting eagerly, as if it responded to his presence. Gerry steps closer with caution. When he speaks up, he sounds exhausted.]

Oh fuck... You're still here? Uh. Hi, I swear I won't vanish without warning again. Hopefully. Maybe.

I think there's also a way to filter blogs specifically? I was thinking 'the eye is closed' for OOC posts like this and then 'the eye is open' for in character posts. I'm gonna put this in the main tags with the poll below to see what other people say, since you are the first to tell me this!))

No but like. If you're not already in college or something, you could take classes and give yourself a shitton of projects you need to do for them. Like, an inhuman amount of papers and shit. If you are in classes, and the amount of work isn't enough, ask the slackers if they need help and offer to do their papers too.

As long as he doesn't start getting bitey, I guess I have a little roommate. Looks like a Pierrot, white fabric skin with some teardrops painted on and a big puffy body still holding the box. I think they're supposed to be black and white, but this little guy has a like. Lavender body and yellow pom poms. Hat looks to be the same too.
