If you use this line, you need to stop. That's emotional manipulation and it's abusive.

If someone using this line on you, you need to set a boundary.

In this situation, I could hear the boyfriend getting worked up on the other end, meanwhile his gf is sitting there, smiling cruelly. What he could've done instead: "I don't like it when you try to emotionally manipulate me to get your way and if you continue doing that, I will (not talk with you until you stop, take a break and reevaluate if this is the best relationship for me, etc.... fill in the blank)."

That's setting a boundary. That's describing the behavior that you will not accept and the action(s) you will take if it continues. And then you have to follow through. You have to take the action you said you would take if the behavior continues.

You can't force anyone to change, but you can choose whether or not you'll put up with what they're doing.

So whenever someone commits the naturalistic fallacy "homosexuality bad because unnatural >:(" I like to point out not only their glaring illogicality, but also, respectfully, there is homosexuality happening in the local lake right now.
