I think the funniest cultural difference for me as a Swedish atheist on the very USian Internet is people talking about how Protestant Christians are all about suffering. It’s the major strand of Christianity here so I always thought it was about fewer rules (bc I compared it to Catholicism) and separation of church and state lmao

Maybe this is cruel to say but some of y’all are just looking for an excuse to be ableist. This is about that one person on X (or Threads I don’t remember) who said books should contain easier words. One person’s silly opinion does not warrant this amount of outrage even if it didn’t consist of people saying anything ableist

Funniest fatphobia is people saying mermaids can’t be fat because they would sink. You don’t even need to speculate on mermaid physiology to disprove that you can just take a fat and a thin person to the pool. Spoilers: it’s thin people who sink. I float without trying and find it really bizarre that a lot of thin people just can’t do it
