I was planning on making more of this reverse role au, but i never did. I’m posting it now so that I won’t forget it later.

When Angela started getting flowers, Zenyatta had to admit, he was a little jealous. Sure, he had a whole nursery full of flowers that he could create beautiful bouquets from as he wished, but… that was a bit different from receiving them from a friend or admirer, wasn’t it?

Of course, he said nothing about it. He may have been more vocal about his wants and needs than most other Omnics, but he still had trouble voicing some of his more… frivolous desires. He didn’t want anyone getting him flowers out of pity or a sense of obligation anyway.

When Junkrat approached with the armful of flowers, it never occurred to Zenyatta that the flowers might be for him.

He shrugs his shoulders gently and moves forward. The struggle to hold the bunch was obvious, but he makes sure they sit un-squished. A smile graces his face at what he feels like is a huge romantic notion.

Though when he words dried on his tongue he shoves the bunch foward. Letting the bundle shower into his lap, “S-Sunflowers ‘n- uh-“ He pauses with the name as he freezes, “...—“

71. our muses take a moonlight walk

The full moon shone bright overhead and illuminated the path beneath the feet of the pair walking around the Watchpoint at two in the morning. Not long prior to their walk the Junker had found Mei sitting alone outside reminiscing as she watched the stars, it was obvious neither of them were able to sleep and they were bored out of their minds. If they were going to be bored and lacking sleep they might as well have done so together.

A cool wind brushed over them and the ocean below the cliff rushed, waves crashing and tall grass rustling around them. It was a cool night as autumn came around and the wind caused a momentary chill which made the climatologist shiver. Wearing just a jumper and comfortable pajama bottoms with boots that were clearly just thrown on as the nearest thing, not matching her attire at all.

The night wasn’t silent, but it was refreshingly soft. Jamison listened quietly, focusing on sounds, and letting his head wander. Turning his eyes to Mei, he nods, “Yeah, always ‘ave.” He smiled at the fact she’s retained some of his babbling. Jamison found that funny, “Hog c’n sleep through anythin’!!” He shakes his head with exaggeration before his whole body plops back into a familiar slouch, “I take f’er-ever to fall asleep and wake so easy.”
