dont take it for granted. any of it.
dont take for granted seeing your friends every weekday, and being in teams you enjoy, or completing homework that felt daunting to begin with. dont take for granted the nimbleness of your joints, or the way your laugh barely has stages before youre in tears, or how your nerves havent become so fried that you hesitate hugging your friends. because one day youll be ten years out of highschool, working in a job with skills that you somehow acquired, in a town you didnt grow up in, surrounded by people who didnt know you as a gangly teen. and it will be so freeing, and peaceful, and joyous; being an adult and having authority over your whole life. because highschool will feel like a snippet of your life once you graduate. itll be old photos, and reminiscent stories, and nicknames you dont remember, and ghost bruises you can still feel, and contact names on your phone. youll miss those horrible, wonderful, heartbreaking years that took up so much of your life at the time.
