One thing that sticks out to me about the conversations between Sam and Dream is how long it’s been since I heard Dream talk about the events of the SMP from his own perspective, regardless if that perspective is being intentionally warped to fit this scenario. The intense apathy that comes from having to accept a view of yourself that you personally feel is untrue, yet is bestowed onto you regardless, and the nihilism that sets in once you begin believing there’s no real way or even need to change said perception. A great thing about watching Dream interact with people in a distinctly non-hostile way, aside from fulfilling my own personal desire to see him calm the hell down for five minutes, it hands us a small insight to how Dream’s mind rationalizes the world around him, something that we typically don’t get to see due to his lack of an internal monologue. It’s more or less what’s expected. A steady and constant dismissiveness with the matter of morality focused more on perspectives rather than any action or consequences, placing the burden on other people to decide his morality for him as they’ve been evidently doing since day one. After all, what’s the purpose of taking the time to question yourself when others will simply assign whatever vision they have of you based off a handful of interactions? Why bother being good by someone else’s set of arbitrary rules when it would just as easily make you bad by another set? What worth does the word “good” have in a world where everyone who latched onto that word as tightly as they do often end up being used, broken, or discarded by others with looser standards?

i have no issues with cc’s on tumblr i think some engagement with the community is healthy and a lot of fanartists (writers inc) deserve to have their works recognised the creators would appreciate everything you guys do

BUT

there’s a culture within tumblr. there’s etiquette. it’s not the same as twitter where people actively want or try to get attention from the creators. it’s a more fan centred space than creator centred space and i think it should stay that way. obviously i’m not saying cc’s shouldn’t be on tumblr there are good times for creator interaction thinking about eret and how they engage with the community through asks and tags and reblogging works to do with them but i feel like if cc’s try TOO hard to be engaged with the community people have an impact on the tumblr fan culture. people have already been wary of people like puffy phil ranboo and tubbo dream having accounts and having cc’s actively look for us on here will make people uneasy because it’s not a cc space. that’s what happens on twitter ccs look for works and people to follow in their community but thats the kind of thing that would change the way people post here

as a second point actually i want to say rn i’m not criticising captain puffy at all rn this is an ongoing concern from any time a streamer has mentioned tumblr— the tumblr environment would be ruptured by an influx of twitter users. in the past it’s not been too bad we’ve managed to introduce the tumblr etiquette to them and it’s been okay but those were mainly refugees coming away from the hostility of mcyttwt. sometimes a creator says something that sends people our way for a different reason. meaning that there’s a higher possibility of the hostile users migrating to tumblr to keep up with their cc here. scott smajor said it in his intro post- there’s a culture here that we like to keep to ourselves and we don’t want that culture to change. because it’s entirely different to how twitter communities interact with each other and we don’t want masses of people trying to bring twitter culture into our spaces
