Why tf would hulu decide to create The Act without getting consent from the actual person the show is based on? And they don’t even consider giving her the proceeds??? They just cut her off completely, retelling her abuse story without even consulting her for a fact check. No matter how many documentaries exist, if you’re making a show about her, SHE should be able to confirm or deny the events that occurred. I’m so upset with Hulu, the directors and producers, and the actresses/actors who thought this was ok cause this is bullshit. I’ve watched all 3 episodes so far and of course entertainment wise, they’re gripping and devastating but knowing now that Gypsy didn’t consent to her story being told this way makes me feel sick.
