Okay so y'all know the owlboy birbs, right? you’ve got Pecker Birb and you’ve got Bill Birb (also im pretty sure theres an Axe birb, he be in the sprites but idk where in the actual game) and then you’ve got Buzzer Birb. Pecker birb is unique cus he got an enormous beak. Bill birb has this funky lookin bill. Axe birb looks like he’s got this big ol axe blade on him. So what about buzzer birb? whats so special about buzzer birb? In canon, well, nothing.
But that’s where the headcanon comes in. i gotta give life to this cute dudeio!Â
So im gonna tell yall all about the buzzer birb!
Given his size and shape, we can determine that the buzzer birb is almost certainly a songbirb, yes? They aren’t built for anything too intense, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to be like a predatory birb. This little dude? judging by the beak shape? they eat insects! They can also be found in groups of 2 to 3 whenever you encounter them, so they definitely aren’t one for large flocks. Like owls, the buzzer birbs tend to stick with one or two other close family members for survival.
They can be found in both Tropos and Vellie, meaning that height, the temperature at that height, that is an environment that they thrive in. This means once the islands are returned to the surface, the buzzer birbs will probably pick up a migratory lifestyle, staying in the north during summer, and migrating south during winter. (assuming they survive the fall, that is. Birds arent really all that great when it comes to change, even if its gradual).Â
Not only that, but I feel that these birds would take up a Northern Mockingbird approach to attention. Going by their animation cycle, they eat ground insects, so they’ll probably stick with the humans and owls. Not too close, mind you, as they fly away if you get too close, but the buzzer birbs would follow in their footsteps. Moving around of dirt, cutting grass, shifting manmade objects, all that tends to stir up insects on the ground, giving them more food to eat! This is probably why some take up residence on the outskirts of Vellie: its close enough to the humans so as to get food from their actions, but far enough from them specifically so as to be able to easily fly away when startled.
Also the bird guy advent survivor, I bet he loved these birds, but didnt have any in his aviary. theyre too free-spirited to be domesticated and stay in a specific location. I bet bird guy set out food for em tho. Like, a birbfeeder but with insects!
also they totally like to curl themselves into a ball and roll down inclines.
