A Michigan native, I started life in Farmington, MI before my family moved to Howell, MI and started Old MacDonalds Farm. This became a children’s farm where “city” kids were able to see and touch farm animals. It was a great way to grow up, and helped teach me how to work with all kinds of people. Following high school I enlisted in the Marine Corps. A year after I got my real estate license, I returned to the military and enlisted in the Howell unit of the Michigan National Guard. I served with many units in various positions before eventually reaching the rank of Captain and retiring in 2003. I received my real estate license in 1979, working first for a real estate company in Farmington before transferring my license to Earl Keim Realty Bienco Corp. As real estate franchises came and went, our company changed from Earl Keim Realty to Heritage Real Estate/Better Homes and Gardens. BH&G sold the franchise to GMAC, who changed our name to Heritage GMAC Real Estate. When GMAC left the real estate business, we joined the top real estate franchise of Prudential Real Estate and are now known as Prudential Heritage Real Estate. Through the years I have worked in all facets of residential real estate, from sales agent to training sales agents to managing an office. Approx 20 years ago I started the REO division, selling bank owned properties. Back then we only sold one or two bank owned properties a year, because that’s all there were. Fast forward to the present and I’m selling a couple hundred REO homes a year. To assist me in selling that many properties, I have assembled the best real estate REO staff in the industry. I have received a few honors recently for the number of homes I sell. In 2010 I was honored by Prudential Real Estate and received the Chairman’s Circle Award – Diamond. In 2011, I was again honored by Prudential Real Estate receiving a 2nd Chairman’s Circle Award – Diamond, plus the PREA 100, recognizing the top 100 agents in the Prudential Real Estate Network of 50,000 sales professionals and the Pinnacle Award, recognizing the top 10 sales professionals within the Prudential Real Estate Network; I was ranked #7 in units sold.
