Hobby Horse Restoration Project

The legs that you see were originally the rockers of a hobby horse. The horse itself was very old and found in pieces in a basement. A family friend wanted to throw it away, but we decided to re-purpose the wood, which was still in good condition. The chair is actually for children, as the hobby horse legs limited the size of the cushions and arm rests.

Easy Chair with Matching Foot Rest Design

In between tinkering with amps and the occasional restoration project, we have been hard at work on this Easy Chair design. It’s easy to get lost in this chair because it’s just so comfortable. The matching foot rest allows you to kick up your feet, which makes you feel like you’re floating on clouds in the comfort of your home.

Note the matching metal framework of the chair and the foot rest. The sharp angles contrast nicely with the plush and curves on the upholstery for a hybrid-modern look that we have been experimenting with recently. Racing stripes are another signature feature of the Boarwood brand. As with all of our products, we offer a wide variety of colors, and are happy to customize to fit your needs.

Tybee Island Lighthouse in beautiful, multi-colored stained glass The wooden frame was custom made for this piece, and the dark stain compliments the black paint on the lighthouse perfectly. If you look closely, you can see that the pane is being back-lit, which makes it look as if the sun is rising next to the lighthouse. The gray structure is Ft Screven, which was in service from the late 1890′s through World War II. Another great feature of the pane is the little bit of lighthouse that extends beyond the frame; there’s a piece of clear glass where the real light would be! We love taking trips down to Tybee Island (and neighboring Savannah, GA), and this stained glass was a way for us to have a little piece of the beach with us back home in Cleveland.

This was another fun stained glass project that came about as more of side project than a headliner. We wanted a way to show off our Scottish ancestry, while staying in line with what we do at Boarwood, and this was result: The St Andrews Crest! The stand was built to safely house the pane, and continues the angular theme seen in the window itself. 

This was a fun project that was created as a way to conceal our living room from the street. Two of these grace our windows and they’re a sight to see when we wake up. The red glass really pops when it catches sunlight. These windows can be seen from quite a ways off, and they’re good conversation pieces!

Keeping all of your music equipment together shouldn’t be a challenge. We live in crowded quarters, so we’ve become masters at optimizing space over the years. The Cab Amp Stand you see above keeps everything a guitarist needs in one spot, and it’s mobile! The top shelf is more than durable enough to hold anything you need it to. The tray shown in the bottom picture is actually removable, and serves as a pedal board.
