Patience stood at the entrance of the hall, nervous. Not being able to obtain a date meant she had come alone. The sixth year Ravenclaw bit her lip thinking should she give up on it? Six years had been and gone and not once she got a date. Sighing, she lent against the wall. She was about to leave and go to bed, when someone cleared their throat.

Lucy turned to the older girl that was sitting behind her at the Ravenclaw table, hastily chewing her lunch to give a reply. “No way! All the older girls are talking about nothing else than not having been asked yet. I doubt that anyone has a date,” she sighed. She didn’t really understand why it was so important to have a date for the ball. “I heard that some people are going in groups, if they don’t get asked. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind, if you join them.”
