Prompt 3: "Date Night"

Following a rather precarious battle, Bumblebee and Blitzwing hunker down where they can while figuring out a way to escape their current predicaments. It doesn't take long for Bumblebee to fall to exhaustion, leaned against the powerful triplechanger - who, surprisingly, doesn't mind.

I wanted to be a little silly and a little narratively inclined with this prompt so I may have skewed the meaning of "date night" to mean "anything tangentially romantic" wgsidnfj

Anyway! This was a joy and a pain to work on because I really wanted to show my beloved friend @bearhaironthechair how much their friendship has meant to me over the past year and how much I've grown to love this silly little ship because of them and their constant silly antics. To be quite honest, before I'd met them, I wasn't a huge blitzbee fan and was in fact considering not shipping it at all, but our conversations and downright fangirling over two fictional robot men has made me appreciate the ship far more than I anticipated

Prompt 2: “A blast to the past"

WISHING THE FUNNEST OF BLITZBEE BONANZAS TO YOU!!

Just over a year ago, I made my first ever piece of BlitzBee content. At the time of its creation, a part of me believed I needed to "give back" to the greater fan content that had brought me so much joy during a particularly hard year of my life. I felt like I needed to prove my appreciation of the ship, to prove my right to partake of it by making content of my own, and to seemingly "earn my place" at the "BlitzBee table", ridiculous as I know that is in the grand scheme of things. And you know what? IT WAS RIDICULOUS! It was thanks to the support, insight, and camaraderie of those I met through my nonsense content over the past twelve months that made me realize that I didn't have to prove anything to anyone! All I had to do was make content that was fun for me to make, and to make content that the wonderful people I bonded with over the last year might also get a bit of fun from! Much to my surprise, I recently earned the incredible privilege of sharing a moment of art creation for the sake of fun WITH those wonderful people. A moment of shared fun around a goofy ship that would never be canon from a 2007 children's animated series about giant, alien robots that just-so-happen to turn into human vehicles!

And I did everything in my ability to make sure it was going to be an absolute bonanza of a shared moment!

It is with immense excitement that I announce that many of the fabulous friends I've made thanks to this goofy ship and I will be having

A BlitzBee Bonanza

at the end of May! Get ready for the wonderful works of @the-awakened-insomnis, @rintinningvt, @robo-holo, @lyrebite, @djwolfie4812, @p12lysanderdelanne, @hirakaz33, @l00n3y-lynn, @einfivre, @blutratte, and @marshmeowlow! May has been the unofficial month of BlitzBee for some time now, especially in thanks to wonderful events such as BlitzBee Week! Reflecting on it, I have long been wanting to do something with my soldiers in ship arms during the month that celebrates the ship as a shared point of levity between us. In many ways, this ship is made all the more valuable by the people that enjoy it alongside you as it is by showing off your own love of it! As a part of this collaborative BlitzBee appreciation effort, everyone participating in the bonanza will be creating an art piece about the ship based on a prompt of their choosing from the list below, with the final piece to be posted over the May 29 to May 31 weekend!

For my BlitzBee buddies taking part in this occasion, you only need to make one piece for the whole weekend that you can post at your convenience over those three days! The piece can be a digital piece, a traditional piece, a written piece, a three-dimensional piece, or whatever embodiment of the goobers brings you the most joy to create! Whether you are posting it in its final form or simply sharing a WIP that you're proud of, please tag your piece as "#ABlitzBeeBonanza" along with any other tags of your choosing!

Now, time for- The Blitzbee Bonanza Prompts (to Pick From!):

Prompt 1: “My favorite idiots” - No specificity, no guidelines, just show off what Blitzbee as a ship is/means to you! 

Prompt 2: “A blast to the past" - Remake the first piece of Blitzbee art/content you ever made with your latest style/designs/headcanons!

Prompt 3: “Date night/day” - Draw what you think a date between the two might look like! Are they going for a walk? Grabbing a bite to eat? Committing a felony? You decide!

Prompt 4: “Unabashed self-indulgence” - Draw yourself, your sona, or your OC(s) with the yellow/black and purple/khaki doofuses! It can be as goofy, sincere, or chaotic as makes your moment of self-insertion entertaining!

Prompt 5: “Something sweet, something salty” - Create a more finalized/detailed piece featuring BlitzBee, and then create an intentionally silly/ugly/opposing version of the first piece to contrast it! Think of it like your own art having a “good ending vs. bad ending” interaction!

Prompt 6: “A lovers' quarrel” - It seems Blitzwing and Bumblebee are in conflict again. Is that conflict an argument over what to order for dinner? Is it them attempting to kill one another over an increasingly realized sense of loyalty to their factions? Is it both? The drama is yours to choose! 

Less than two months ago in story, the once-fully-Cybertronian Bumblebee was genetically fused with a Bombus fervidus (AKA “Golden Northern”) bumblebee in a cruel “experiment” by Blackarachnia as another step in her "research". Following Wasp’s mutation at Blackarachnia’s hands, Bumblebee’s mutated biology was more “refined” than Waspinator’s, retaining a very similar overall appearance in his robot-mode. The same cannot be said of his alt-mode, which is now that of a large B. fervidus, akin to Blackarachnia’s and Waspinator’s arthropod alt-modes. At present, Bumblebee isn’t exactly “half robot, half bug”. Instead, much like Sari, he is a bug’s biology made mechanical in his alt-mode, with much of his internal biology in his robot-mode being similarly “organic, but metallic”. Think of it like a computer trying to replicate your own animal anatomy. As a result, Bumblebee has a unique mix of Cybertronian and “Earthen” characteristics, some being beneficial and others causing significant limitations, which have been listed below:

Limitations of his new biology: - The "experiment" was horrifically taxing and traumatizing on his physiology, and he now deals with chronic pain as a result, although it is manageable. - More prone to hunger and physical exhaustion. - Electricity-based attacks now have a limited capacity, and if his "day's battery" gets used up, it can take several hours of rest (non-use) for his batteries to "recharge to full". This process can be sped up with sleep and the consumption of special foods such as electrolyte drinks (credit for said idea belonging to @einfivre!), but those methods alone do not work instantly nor can they bring his battery back to full capacity. - More physically vulnerable to extreme temperatures. - Loss of the ground-based speed advantage he previously had. - Can no longer digest inorganic substances other than energon and certain metals. That means oils and/or gasolines can't be used as a quick energon substitute, and he will get violently ill attempting to use them as such. - His body can't be as easily "moded" now the way his original body could, so certain add-ons he once had like his internal comm-link and even his HUD - as was programmed for his Cybertronian biology - were lost during the "experiment". - His body tends to betray him regarding emotions he wishes to keep secret, be that through his little movements showing his internal headspace, or the way he starts audibly buzzing between words when angry or overwhelmed. - Now that he is covered in fur, he has to be a lot more routine with self-grooming for the sake of his health and comfort. -..................He sheds A LOT. Benefits of his new biology: - He is no longer prone to the same diseases that typical Cybertronians are (such as rust), and he has a much faster healing rate as a result of his more Earthen "cellular" biology. - He can now gain energy through the consumption of organic foods and plant matter - especially those high in sugars - alongside energon. - His increased tactile capabilities allow him to steady himself and cling to a variety of surfaces. This allows him the means to climb walls and hang from ceilings. - He has incredible eyesight by Cybertronian standards, able to see a much wider color spectrum and providing a much faster reaction time. - He is physically much stronger now as a result of his metallic "insect musculature", able to lift weights tens of times heavier than himself. - He can fly in his bee alt-mode. - He can talk to bees! While he CAN technically talk to other related bugs, they become harder to understand the farther they are in genetic "relation" to him. Here's a fun way to think of it: In Bumblebee's perspective, if bees spoke American English, than wasps would speak with a British accent, ants would speak with an Irish accent, and sawflies would speak with the thickest Scottish accent he had ever heard! - Oddly enough, there are a few humans who find his alt-mode slightly more approachable than his robot-mode, which can serve as a calming presence (AKA a soft, warm surface) for a panicked person needing rescue in an emergency. (More information to be added as needed in the future!)

Notes: Hey-hey, passerbyer! I hope you are doing well! I want to apologize for not being as active recently. I've been physically and mentally unwell the past days, and everything is just a unique level of exhausting. One of those times when you feel trapped in your own body and mind, ya know? But, I do not mention that with the intent of gaining pity or causing guilt; that's what the human condition is sometimes, and it's on me to manage it. I just wanted to offer some context, and perhaps explain that it's going to take me more time to respond to Asks and Mentions as they deserve. Again, my apologies for any disappointment that instills, but please know that I do see every Asks and Mention I am sent and they always make me smile!

Notes: I think it'd be funny if these two were on amicable terms with each other considering they: A) Are both particularly "monstrous" among most of their kind; B) Are enamored by the idea of inflicting suffering/pain on others for personal entertainment/experiment; and C) Are treated as questionably sound of mind but relatively useful to the cause by other Decepticons.
