As I had my part in it too. I colluded, by allowing maltreatment toward me occur. I did not stand my ground, trust myself and my perceptions, and walk away from a burning house. Instead, I let it burn me and leave me hollow and dry. Though this, I learned to no longer fight for burning houses. I learned that I must live in the truth that I deserve better, and to never again stray from my inner self.

You are still responsible for what you did and how you acted for that time. But I own my piece in what I did not yet know.

However, I am grateful for the path that the loss set me on. I would not take back the radical internal shift, spiritual enlightenment, the wisdom, life lessons, the new people I met, and all those I’ve come to help as a result, for anything in the world.

But the most valuable piece of all, one that I have tirelessly fought for, is that now I know my true worth.

Good things take time, including recovery.
