Here is a wonderful thread addressing these topics in addition to confirming the presence of people in precolonial Africa who were not what we consider cisheterosexual-filled with book recommendations, full PDFs and various text resources

Imagine a guy who hates disabled people builds a hotel, so he bans all disabled people, and builds it in such a way as to specifically make access difficult for them.  Years later he sells the hotel to a new owner who has no problem with disabled people.  So you have a hotel where the owner has no problem with the disabled, and neither do any of the staff... however due to the actions of the previous owner, the hotel is still built in such a way that it doesn’t accommodate them (no disabled parking, no ramps, no extra considerations, etc.) So although the people currently running it are not actively discriminating, they are operating a system designed to discriminate, and need to fix it even if they aren’t to blame for it.

A quick collection collage of our time at F4 last night, ahh the memories. We can still hear the amazing beats and see the amazing visuals that Slycon and Schmo put on for us by the nights end. The wonderful concert from good apples and the beautifully talented Xepher as she sang her heart out along with her co-host Luminess. Of course the night started as any grand event should with an amazing firework show put on by the Runaway Theater Troupe. We were so blessed by the stars to speak with them yet again, such kind spirits who live for entertainment. Talthorn and I both got our fortunes told by the stars and then again with the cards by two wonderful readers. We even made an unexpected purchase as we found a clever vendor named Stannum of Darkmoon’s Finest who sold us his best cologne!  Twilight Fortune, a delicate flowery scent made with Aethril and Talandra’s Rose to give Talthorn an air of mystique! As if he needed more of it but being made with Aethril I simply had to make sure he got a bottle. Much to my surprise he even sold one he called Stargazing, made with Starflower for me! He claimed it called to mind a night spent under the stars with the company who I bring with me and I must say it certainly did the trick for my beloved. And finally we made one more purchase of his Highborne mix. An odd name but as it too had Aethril within it -and- starlight rose it definitely evokes the sense of nobility and I so loved tracking it on Talthorn through the night.  Talthorn had two general readings, both seemed to speak words to him he needed to hear. I myself inquired of our desire to sign on with yet another troupe, and latter I asked about our upcoming trip to Zandalar. Both readings gave me some insight and caution to consider but they were again things I needed to hear.   We closed the night dancing away with our good friend Talimas and bumping into our newer friend Ranek who was tearing up the dance floor all night long. While we live for the moment and most those moments involve so many of our friends along the way, we both agreed that this night was just as wonderful as we lost ourselves to the beat and the funk of the fest and its entertainment till we both danced our ways back home with pink hair and all. An experience we did not expect but loved every minute of and will carry with us till the next! Hats off to you Madam Xepher and Luminess and all things Neon in the land of dreams yet to come!

The Future Funk Fortune Festival, founded by Xepher K’awiil and Luminess Brightcoil, is back to celebrate fortune tellers from all walks and cultures across Azeroth. Their goal is to not only give the diviners of their community a chance to shine, but to give them a platform where they can share their methods and teachings for all who wish to hear. And the festival will end with a bombastic rave with future funk soundscapes from our live DJS! Check them out on twitch at officialschmo and slycon !!!

What are we looking for?

✨Fortune tellers of all kinds are welcome to apply for a booth. We seek to showcase the talents of the community and all the fascinating ways one chooses to roleplay divination. This is a festival dedicated to you, so come out to amaze the masses!

✨Want to share more with the world about fortune telling? We are holding 10-15 minute long Sooth Seminars throughout the festival. Example: lectures on one’s style of fortune telling, demonstrations for beginners, or a Q/A about mysticism.

Below are examples of fortune telling styles:

-Haruspicy, divination through analyzing the entrails of sacrificial animals

-Hydromancy, divination through water

-Oneiromancy, divination through dream interpretation

-Runecasting or Runic divination

-Scrying, divination by looking into mediums to detect messages or visions.

-Ceromancy, divination through patterns in melted or dripping wax

-Capnomancy or libanomancy, divination through the shapes formed in smoke

-Osteomancy, bone reading divination

-Conchomancy, divination through seashells

-Tasseomancy, divination that interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee ground or wine sediments

✨ Merchants selling wares of mysticism, divinations, and items of that ilk are encouraged to apply. We want the festival to offer a wide variety of products of magical nature to the patrons. If you are unsure about your wares, do not hesitate to ask!

✨ And finally we have to have delectable food, tasty treats and refreshing drinks to sample throughout the festival. Food vendors of all kinds are welcomed to apply, though we have limited slots for such!

The World’s Faire Carnival is a week-long, neutral spring extravaganza of the best things Azeroth has to offer. World’s Faire Carnival celebrates the victory of the people of Azeroth over the Old Gods, and the victory of life over death. As we venture into the Shadowlands, we will take our pride and heart with us. Built off of the splendid Carnival of the Sun and inspired by the Tournament of Ages, we aim to provide a fun event for a good cause: Doctors Without Borders, an international humanitarian NGO best known for its projects in conflict zones and in countries affected by endemic diseases. This is a HUGE project, and absolutely everyone is welcome to help.
