This year, for Shinee’s 12th anniversary, I ran a survey asking two simple questions: Who is your bias, and what’s the funniest thing he’s ever said?

Now that Shinee Day 2020 is upon us, I’ll be sharing the results! Quite a few people had both the same bias and same funniest quote, so repeats will only be listed one time, but there will be a note of how many times that quote was submitted. Hope you enjoy this stroll down memory lane!

Jinki

“I’m a hole.”

The fact that he likes chicken a lot more than he likes Yoogeun

(when he got asked what the most attractive feature he has is) “….Butt?”

“She said tiger!”

(to himself) “Shinee, Pinee, Shinee, Pinee…”

(when a fan asked him to write her a message that would make her heart race) “You left your wallet here.”

(about a song he wrote) “Mom, mom, mom! Is this real?!”

(sounding genuinely heartbroken) “Not enough rice…”

“I look like I sell bread.”

“Spaghetti is far more attractive than you, Key.”

When he tried to give a guest on Hello Counselor a prize but he tripped and fell and dropped the prize on her

This isn’t a quote, but six different MVPs submitted something to the effect of “Jinki has never intentionally been funny in his life” and/or “He only tells dad jokes” which is both hysterical and very true

Jonghyun

“You’re going to get shot…”

The krump disaster

(desperately trying not to laugh) “We in Shinee are a quiet team.”

The time he forgot the word ‘sour’ so he referred to lemons as ‘spicy’ for several minutes

The time he accidentally became the posterboy for Listerine for like two weeks

When he asked Minho what his ideal type is, and Minho said “a dream girl,” as in their song, Dream Girl. But then Jonghyun said, “You only date her in your dreams…how sexual.”

When he tried to convince people that Minho did not know that fuck is a swear word when Minho said it on a live broadcast (mentioned 2x)

“Nothing makes my heart race. Except me. I make my own heart race.”

Kibum

(with extreme disdain) “You’re in the club…?” (mentioned 2x)

“The day after we debuted, I knew I was famous.”

“Taemin-ah, I’m sorry, but it feels like I’m filming a porn.” (mentioned 2x)

(reading a fan’s comment on a live broadcast) “Jinki is too fucking cute.”

The time he took a picture of Kibum crying over a sad book, and Kibum asked him why he did it, and Minho said “so I wouldn’t forget it happened.”

(when asked to describe taekey’s outfits) “As always, Key is fashionable. On the other hand, Taemin is wearing what appears to be his mother’s dishcloth.”

(completely flatly) “Where is god.”

(when a cordi-noona was trying to fix his clothes) “I’m going to tell on you to my mom…”

(trying to say “peace be upon you” in Arabic to Shawols) “Salad be upon you.”

When he was trying to show off to fans how well Key had done in engineering their stage outfits, then ripped the pants Kibum had designed right as he was saying they were durable

(to Key) “Those overalls look like you bought them as a little boy and now you’re wearing them as an adult.”

Taemin

(about an ice cream cake that already had ice cream in it) “Should we put it in the oven now?” (mentioned 3x)

That his ideal way to meet a girlfriend was to have her hit him with his car, get out and check on him, and then they fall in love. (mentioned 3x)

Like fuck, this doesn’t even remotely has to do with Jonghyun, not only that but using such argument as implying people that if they drop seungri he will be “gone” too.

Jonghyun isn’t a warning to keep stanning your favs in fear of what will happen to them, especially when this specific situation revolves around prostitution
