Day 1: Baking
HAPPY NALU WEEK!!!! I currently have 4/7 days done, and am prepared to lock the fuck in.
I made sourdough in the bakery where I work, but I forgot the starter so the loaves were just flour bricks and it was really stressful :(
i also work in a bakery and we sell these little blended frappe drinks and i had a dream that someone ordered a caramel frappe with bacon grease blended into it to "increase the richness" and it was so disgusting that i wrote a note about it and pinned it to the fridge for all my coworkers to share the burden
What if Erid invented intergalactic fast travel
I don't support Eva bashing that's emotional support environmental terrorist right there. What I'm interested in is the bad pr she is giving earth because the eridian ambassador is too invested in his flesh teddy bears life
Harrowed by the sudden shrill shrieking of the fire alarm.
The cats bolted and we were just cringing.
It’s stopped but likely has a low battery. Hopefully it won’t go off when we’re sleeping.
Good news: It didn’t go off when we were sleeping.
The bad news: My beloved wife investigated it and we literally cannot change the battery. We just need a whole new unit.
What the fuck is that shit.
So here’s hoping the landlord is quick to get a new one cause we all sure hate the current random sonic attacks.

Do you have any good fanfics, whether from Ao3, Wattpad, or Fanfiction.net where the mist has fallen?
That shouldn't be something as dystopian as Percy becoming a dictator of humanity by order of the gods, but also not something as casual and "xd" as that fanfic where only humans' reactions are shown on social media.
Meaning, not so dystopian and too edgy, but not too relaxed and unrealistic either.
I'm thinking more about something that tries to imitate how real-world humanity would react to pantheons in the context of the Riordaverse. You could also include the other sagas, like the Kane Chronicles or Magnus Chase. It's not mandatory, but it's better if you find it.
Please and thank you :D
Hey there! Hopefully what we've found is what you're looking for...
Hide and Peak by CarpePugna
When the Mist falls, mortals begin seeing the true forms of monsters and other divine phenomenon. For some this can’t get any more mind boggling, until a familiar name also makes the headlines: Percy Jackson. Or a story where the mortals Percy interacted with find out he’s a demigod. His old bullies are scared, his somewhat-could-have-been friends are impressed, and his family are trying to keep their privacy from the press.
I Make No Apologies by Ravenclaw_Peredhel
The Mist disappears. Demigods are revealed. Blah blah blah, cliché story. This time, there is a difference. This time, the Ancient Laws are abolished when the Mist falls. This time, the gods behave like parents. Welcome, to the world of Chaos.
Percy Jackson and the fall of the mist by evynolney
Percy Jackson finds himself in yet another major conflict this time however it is spiced up with the collapse of the mist. With the mortals now keenly aware of the happenings of the mythological world. Percy has to figure out what happened to the mist.
Riding on the Rolling Tide by @mrthology
“I think that’s Percy Jackson!” “Who?” Sarah rolled her eyes. “The kid who jumped off the St Louis arch years ago, and then there was all that weirdness,” she added, waving her hands for effect, “with a kidnapping or something.” “Oh, the one that’s a demigod?” “Yeah,” she said. She still wasn’t sure if she believed in gods or demigods, but it was hard to deny it at this point. Monsters and worse walked among them, and Sarah hated it. At first, she’d thought it was some strange publicity stunt for an upcoming show or movie—studios had done stranger things to draw crowds, after all—but she knew better now. Gods were real, and so were monsters. — After the Second Giant War, the Mist falls. The results aren't what anyone expected.
Percy Jackson: The Veil Of Mortality by Beyney
The veil between the mortal and the immortal world thins, threatening not only the demigods and their allies but mortals themselves. As the attacks on mortals increase, the world's attention turns to the half-bloods. Now, those who once hid in plain sight must confront a world that fears and threatens them. To survive, they will have to remind humanity why some legends were never meant to be forgotten. Or The mist falls and honestly, the demigods have better things to do than that.

my favourite and least favourite things about Fem! Percy Jackson au's and fics
favourite:
1 the idea that Percy has powers unique to herself (siren song, mist travel, shapeshifting into sea creatures, etc. etc.)
2 the way people interpret Percy's aesthetic (e.g. sometimes she's a tomboy skater, sometimes she's a hyperfeminine badass, sometimes she's a mix of both.)
3 the rare (and I mean rare) fics that give Percy a wlw relationship (seriously there aren't enough, and if there are, they are usually too short or not as popular).
4 Percy in the rare fics that have her not as the "camp mom" but more as the "camp older sister" (she cares for the younger campers and protects them from harm, enforcing camp rules to make sure the younger campers are safe)
5 Percy being the "camp younger sister" as well (the older campers (Silena, Charles, Clarisse, Chris, etc. etc.) being slightly protective of her despite knowing how she could kick their asses (she is aware that they baby her but she uses it to her advantage sometimes (rarely))
dislikes:
1 most fem! Percy ships are with characters she would not ever fall for (perpollo, perluke, permes. etc. etc.)
2 the fics where Percy is useless and helpless as a girl (why? she's just as badass as her canon counterpart, give her a badass moment for once.)
3 there is not enough wlw content for her, give her a samesex relationship you bloody cowards!
4 when fics put down other female characters down to elevate her (this is also a problem in stuff that keeps Percy as a male, but it is just as bad in Fem Percy works, Percy, no matter what gender they are, would never condone putting down others to elevate one person)
Okay this might seem like the weirdest thing to point out but I was re-reading the PJO books again and it just struck me how the characters' discussion on Gabe's mortal scent directly foreshadows how Luke's rebellion was doomed from the beginning.
Gabe is described as "repulsively human" by Grover, and he claims it's because Gabe is so disgusting and horrible (there wasn't much detail about this so I'm assuming this is what they meant) that his putrid scent was enough to cover Percy for two weeks.
The directly implies that "the more horrible of a person you are, the further you stray from immortality".
Which just goes to show how the gods view mortals. Gods and powerful demigods can manipulate the Mist, we've seen that, and they directly affect the existence of the Mist itself. So the fact that the gods seem to think of themselves as these saintly creatures that can do no wrong whereas mortals are these horrible, stinky animals that aren't worthy of recognition, is kind of jarring especially because there are several other gods who are described as Gabe is. There is a literal direct comparison between Ares and Gabe. But that's a different point entirely.
And now I say that this shows how Luke's rebellion was doomed from the start only because the gods show that their attitudes are never going to change. The environment, the very existence of this mortal- scent thing never goes away, which is a direct reflection of how the gods view mortals.
In the first book, Chiron describes the Mist as a kind of fog that happens when the divine interacts with the non-supernatural, AKA, monsters and gods start messing with the mortal world. But later on through the books, there is a sort of derisive undercurrent when the characters talk about the Mist in relation to mortals - they always say something along the lines of "the Mist confuses mortals because their tiny brains can't process the information so they like to rationalize everything they see, ew what a bunch of non-believers."
It just really shows the hierarchy of this world. Gods think of themselves as these overlording, saintly creatures - which ironically makes them more human than anything, by giving them qualities like ego or pride which are commonly associated with the humans they so despise - and humans as the physical manifestations of all the sins that have ever existed. They were never going to change, because change requires respect and understanding. Which is never going to happen.
The books actually show that very beautifully, I think. In the end you wonder: would Zeus have listened if so much destruction didn't fall upon their only sanctuary? The gods are pretty casual with killing and committing atrocities to the mortal world, so would they have even cared if Kronos didn't directly attack Olympus?
Interviewer: How are you the god of heroes when that title belongs to Heracles?
Percy Jackson, completely straightfaced: I fistfought him. Next question.
I don’t know if there are any fics where Percy becomes a god against his will, where he isn't on board with it and it’s definitely not fluff. I’m not looking for the version where he’s the gods’ best friend or Poseidon’s baby boy.
(That’s just me, yall. No shade.)
I think the tragedy would be incredible because the gods would view immortality as a prize or a gift; they are eternal beings who were never truly mortal, so how could they understand the beauty of a finite life? Meanwhile, Percy would loathe it. To become immortal is to become Other, to lose an essential part of yourself. You would feel your mortal flesh and tissue being destroyed and replaced, your blood drying up as ichor fills your veins.
Godhood is defined by loss and stasis. If you are perfect, why change? Percy would remain like this forever, his evolution left only to how mortals perceive him. He would no longer be the owner of his own life; he’d be shackled—him, a son of the sea who inherently hates being held back; him, who only ever wanted to be normal.
The rage would grow. Anger defined him: anger at others, at himself, and at the gods. Luke died, the war ended, and yet the world remained the same. He sees this, and the fury builds until it finally bursts, leading him to do something that cannot be undone.
(Maybe I should just write that 1shot idea where God!Percy breaks the Mist...)

Humans love keeping hazardous things on them on all times and calls them cleaning supplies this really doesnt help with the case that humans are a sane a species.
Transformers taking humans with them on missions as little danger sensors
imagine, if you will, being a Cybertronian:
walking through a forest as a group, and the human suddenly goes completely still. slowly, they turn their head to a random spot and stare at it intensely. someone raises a baster to shoot at the spot, and just as you're about them to put that down, it's probably just an animal, your enemy walks out, servos in the air. how the human noticed them while they were hiding, you'll never know.
Kon is sun boy. He likes the sun. They do not need to sleep, but still, he does sleep, because he can? Like. He doesn’t have to. But like the sun goes down, he gets bored, and there’s nothing he needs to do in that exact moment.
so Kon usually sleeps like 1-2 hours after the sun goes down. For me, that’s like 8:30 which I think is technically ‘early’ (my viewpoint is skewed, most people i know go to bed anywhere from 10 PM to 4 AM).
this does of course depend on whether or not he’s needed. He will go weeks without sleep for a mission. He will wake up immediately if someone calls his name. But I imagine as soon as the sun sets he, being part human, gets just a little worn out and the human part goes ‘woah, we’re 0.5% less energised than usual. Is this what being tired is? We’re tired, go to sleep.’
Something, something, Kon and Tim get together, Tim knowing his sleeping habits, and Kon decides to just… hold Tim in his arms as he sleeps some time into their relationship—on this day, he is not on patrol. This is how Tim develops a consistent-ish sleep cycle
picture-perfect
