I like how quick different characters in deltarune go on the opposing side of the team as if they don't know that the apocalypse caused by the villain (no matter how silly and stupid) that will rise if they win. Are they stupid? It's a more witty kinda misunderstanding humor that I notice in the old newspaper comics like peanuts which is what earthbound was inspired by. Also you ever noticed how in the old simpsons show when there was a sign that said something it was left for you to read meanwhile in the new simpsons episodes they read it for you by having the characters say it. It's got a subtlty. That's something I notice with many shows such as family guy or even the peanuts itself with the movie. And another thing, almost all the time I feel like this media is too on the nose with what the actor is feeling. In the comics I get a more warm inviting feeling because I imagine the characters talking in a much less expressive way and the old cartoons understood this, they had the characters simply talk the way children talk, meanwhile in the new cartoons the children are usually played by adults and don't even sound like children and they beat you over the head with how they feel. Like it feels more aggressive and unwelcoming. Like It's also just like that in captain underpants. In the comics I simply imagined them talking like me, like how kids talk. But movie didn't. Kids don't talk that expressively unless they're joking. Old people act the same. They just say what they need to say, no overreacting. In a way young children are just as mature as old people.
