I think it’s also a nice juxtaposition to the West’s dehumanization of the east purely because they have different cultures. In the east, all these different races with their own beliefs and traditions are able to live together because they know they’re stronger and safer through mutual cooperation, not waging wars for each other land. If anything, this episode made the West look like the savages and barbarians and the East like the civilized ones. Amazing how perspectives can change so quickly once you get to know people.

The second half of the episode with the Nyleia reunion was also great and got me a little emotional seeing how happy the former knight is with her new family. Puts into perspective how none of the shit she was fighting for before really mattered. Yes, she lost her status and “duty” but found true happiness amongst a tight knit community and as a mother. That’s clearly made Sera feel a bit broody too because now she’s realizing life with Veor might not be so bad lol

Speaking of which, anime logic be like “this is an 18 year old” because ain’t no way this dude is 8 years younger than Sera lmaoo. I do love a good adult age gap romance though so now I’m even more invested. Really good episode
