- a group of characters sleeping together in a big snuggly pile (friends, teammates, siblings, etc.)

- supportive parents who are okay with the absolute weirdest / outlandish shit; just as long as it’s safe and legal, it’s cool with them

- smartass characters being out-smartassed by another smartass character

- reassuring silent looks that say “it’s going to be okay” or “you’re doing fine”

- characters crying over the supposed death of another character only for said character to be totally okay and confused as to why everyone is so sad

- on top of that, the others being like “not now (name), you’re dead” or something like that only to backtrack and realize (scenes like this are usually sweet and / or funny, depending on the context)

- lovers finding usually annoying characteristics of their partner’s cute or endearing (the way they snore, the fact they burn almost everything they cook, maybe they have a strange favorite food, stuff like that)

- younger siblings being bigger / taller than their older siblings

- FOUND FAMILY TROPES

- bullies learning the error of their ways and becoming friends

- crowd songs in musicals (townsfolk numbers have always been my favorite)

- fantastic voyage plots

- detention plots 

- Very Special Episodes™ that actually convey their messages very well without being preachy or half-assing it

- the “nothing is scarier” trope

- teachers that care about their students and said students love them

Like, a character can only handle so much before it becomes too much and they fall unconscious

And the image of someone passing out and someone desperately reaching out, trying to catch their limp form

That gets me.

Or they collapse but dont lose consciousness, instead laying there dazed, confused, and struggling to move while their friend runs over to help them.

The impact of the ground jostles them, making them more uncomfortable and afraid

They fall forwards, landing on their elbows in an attempt to protect themselves. Head leaning down. Gently touching the ground.

Or they fall sideways, shoulder slamming into the ground with an impact that sends their head into the ground only to bounce up and hit the floor again.

Or they fall backwards, slowly, with nothing to protect themselves. Nothing to take the impact of the colliding force. There’s nothing that could save them. Or protect them. Their head destined to smash into the floor, unguarded.

Unless someone reaches out, grasping onto their arm (hard enough that their hand print digs in) so instead they both stumble down, the whumpee still hiting the ground with their side and shoulder and the other person leaning into it with their knees, supporting their injured friend.
