         outside  of  the  games ,  however ,  they  were  still adjusting .    the  harsh  conditions  the  arena offered  weren’t  unfamiliar  to  how  they’d  had  to  live  before ,  quite  honestly .     they  felt  themselves  and  nature  were  one .   for  example ,  their  congress  of  ravens .   surprising  to  many ,  but  comforting  to  them .

          bloodhound  was  at  paradise  lounge .   not  to  drink ,  for  they  weren’t  comfortable  removing  any  part  of  their  mask  in  public ,  but  for  the  feeling  of  company .   even  if  they  were  just  observing ,  the ambiance  was  nice .    perhaps  they  enjoyed  solitude ,  but , socializing  could  be  enjoyable  from  time  to  time .    and  they  saw  some  familiar  faces  from  inside  the  arena .   

              the  sound  of  approaching  footsteps  broke  them  out  of  their  thoughts .    someone  was  approaching  them .    bloodhound’s masked  face  turned  towards  the  stranger  expectantly .

         the  two  of  them  had  dropped  at  thermal  station .    while  investigating  the  loot  bins  and  buildings  for  supplies ,  they  listened ,  kept  an  eye  out  for  movement .   sigrún ,  one  of  their  ravens ,  kept  perched  on  their  shoulder .   so  far ,  they’d  collected  a  longbow ,  and  a  spitfire ,  as  well  as  decent  body  armor .   they’d  been  through this  more  than  enough  times  to  know  the  drill .

        bloodhound’s  masked  face  turned  to  their  squadmate .

           ❝        we  must  get  going ,     ❞   they  insist ,  turning  their  back  to  push  open  one  of  the  double  doors .    ❝      the  ring  is  destined  to  come .   it  is  unforgiving .     ❞
