We would like to clarify our position, in regards to the similarity between 'Life Is a Temple' and 'Princess of China' (Coldplay), after have seen the comments in the last hours on Youtube.
First of all, we gave birth to 'Life Is a Temple' as a song in the beginning of 2011, and just after some modifications, improvements and re-arrangements, it became the song that you can now listen to. To prove this, there are many audio and video recordings: it's our habit, in fact, to document the development of every our song since it was born, trying to understand the weak parts and making, where needed, focused changes. The final recording day was in the first week of September 2011, and the video was published the 18th of October of the same year.
15th November 2011, the most important newspaper of our town ('L'eco di Bergamo'), published an article regarding this similarity, in which we explain clearly our precise thoughts. (LINK ARTICLE)
Initially, having a great esteem of them, we believed in Coldplay's best intentions, despite the many plagiarism cases in which that band had been involved in the last years; but what happened afterwards changed our mind. In fact, 23rd November 2011, contacted via mail by Caroline Grant, journalist of 'The Sun', primary English daily newspaper, we got an interview via telephone (LINK interview), and we agreed about a publication date, too. Chris Martin, however, was contacted for this, and, as the journalist wrote us, Coldplay prohibited the forthcoming publication of the article. We don't know the reasons, and to accuse is not in our style; the doubts, however, still remain. Why do you avoid the publication of an article if you have a good intention?
What we ask is just to clarify the situation soon and, over all, to judge 'Life Is a Temple' as a final product of a considerable effort made by an emerging band, whose members have an average age of 18 years. We don't ask to be understood, but we ask to give us a chance to be it, a chance to be appreciated. Just judge the whole matter in an objective way. #giveusachance
