I haven’t posted in a long time. I have gone back to school to change my career and I’ve just been working. I found this small story that I wrote. I used inspiration from Shera but, with a Gotham spin on it. A riot breaks out and of course Joker uses the opportunity to go and bully some of the other inmates/patients but, his mocking gets turned against him. The story never went anywhere but, I thought I’d post it anyway.
Clay face was looking out the window of his prison cell, as the Joker strides up to him gun in hand. He turns in his chains to look at the Joker. Joker smiles at him evilly wanting to relishing in his fear but, Clay Face only looks at him critically. Ever the performer he stage whispers to the clown.
“I think I’ve finally figured out your character Joker… You want to blame one bad day for what you are but, it was never just one bad day, was it?” Clay face morphs into the figure of the long dead mobster Sallie Guzzo. Joker’s smile instantly falls from his face as he looks at his former tormentor. He starts to back up slowly eyes wide.
Guzzo gives him an evil smirk with nicotine yelled teeth and says in a mocking tone .”People have hurt you, haven't they?”.
Clay face then morphs into the form of the deceased Mafia Don Carmine Falcone. Falcone straightens his white suit brushing invisible lint from his lapel and looks at the Joker as if he was scrutinizing an insect.
He speaks to the Joker with a superior tone. “They didn't believe in you.” The Joker still wide eyed takes another step back.
Clay face then morphs into the form of Joker’s once allie Lex Luther, he steps forward with a disgusted look on his face before crossing his arms and saying, “They didn't trust you.” Joker gasps taking another step back. Clay Face then morphs into the form of the Dark Knight himself.
“Joker’s eyes grow impossibly wider before he whispers out,”no…” Batman takes a step forward with an actual smile on his face before speaking in his deep growl,
“Didn't need you.” Joker takes another step back hitting the wall. Shaking holding his gun in front of him, tears streaming down his face the Joker screams “NO, NO, NO!!!”
Clay Face morphs into Joker’s former protege Punchline, “betrayed you” then morphs into Joker’s onetime best friend Catwoman, “lied to you”, changing shape again Clayface takes the form of the Riddler, “kept secrets from you.”, he then morphs into Joker’s former physiatrist Dr. Joan Leland, “gave up on you”, Clay Face then takes the form of Joker’s former boss Salvatore Valestra, “used you” Clayface then turns into the Joker’s ex-girlfriend Harley Quinn.
She stands proudly shoulders back and marches straight up to the Joker. He drops his gun and puts his hands over his ears falling to his knees. Harley looks down at him meeting his eyes with distain on her face, she then says “Left you”, Joker drops his hands and seems to be looking right through her.
Clay Faces switches forms once again taking the form of what is suspected the Joker looked like before his accident. Joker looks at his past self with tear streaks on his face lower lip quivering. His past self looks at him with pity in their eyes before saying, “but, did you ever stop to think? Maybe, they're not the problem? It’s you. It’s always been you and, no matter how hard you try you can’t ever seem to change what you really are.”
The Joker looks miserably up at Clay Face. “Why are you doing this? Why are you being so mean to me?”. Tear tracks dried on his cheeks.
Clay Face morphs into Tommy Blackcrow a journalist Joker had tortured for years under the guise of being his “best friend” he smiles at the Jokers wide green eyes and says “Why would I torture you? We’re best friends. Isn’t that what you told me? What kind of friend would torture someone Joker?“
