Translates into into being snide with her because every time she talks he has to reply, and he needs her to pay attention to him but he’s scared of her getting to know him on any level so all he’s left with are insults. Translates to him burning down her childhood home, because it was his dream to burn down his own family and be left with the single man whose attention he craved and now maybe she will give him her complete and undivided attention. Translates to going into a rage when fighting Hawks, more of a rage than he expected to feel, because the person Hawks killed was Jin and he was Himiko’s friend and she loved him and she’ll be miserable and he wants to rip apart the man who would ever dare to make her even slightly miserable.

And he’ll probably never realise that he’s caught feelings for the blood-soaked little psycho, because he doesn’t think he even has feelings any more. Thinks they were burnt out of him years ago. And it’s not like Himiko would ever pick up on his feelings, she has her own obsessions and emotional barriers that take up her time.
